A leading Gastroenterology practice with six outpatient locations across Gwinnett County, Georgia is seeking experienced Physician Assistants (PAs) to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a lead Physician Assistant role within a collaborative, well-established private practice that provides high-quality care to adult patients across the region.
About the Role
As a Physician Assistant specializing in Gastroenterology, you'll work alongside a team of experienced gastroenterologists to deliver comprehensive outpatient care.
You'll perform evaluations, assist in diagnostic procedures, and help develop personalized treatment plans - all while enjoying a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with no hospital rounds required.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Patient Load: Approximately 10-12 patients per morning and afternoon
Patient Population: Adults (18+), primarily female
Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient assessments, medical histories, and physical exams
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
Assist in and manage gastroenterological procedures (endoscopy, colonoscopy, etc.)
Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans and care coordination
Provide patient education on GI conditions, procedures, and wellness
Maintain accurate and compliant medical documentation
Qualifications
Required:
Active Georgia Physician Assistant License
1-2 years of Gastroenterology experience, preferably in a private practice setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong teamwork and patient-centered approach
Preferred Qualities
Prior leadership or senior PA experience
Ability to manage a high-volume outpatient caseload
Experience working primarily with female patient populations
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 (commensurate with experience)

Interpret diagnostic test results including to assess and identify deviations from normal.
Make and assist with diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination.
Order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
Prescribe therapy or medication, with physician approval as appropriate.
Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections (excluding hip joint injections/aspirations), immunizations, suturing and minor/superficial wound care, and infection management.
Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
Provide physicians with assistance during medical procedures as needed.
Visit and observe patients as needed on hospital rounds or house calls, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician.
Complete documents, charts, triages etc., in accordance with organization's open document policy.
Commit to thirty-six (36) hours of patient care per week and four (4) hours of administrative time, when there is an adequate number of providers, with the specific schedule to be determined with Medical Director and Practice Manager.
Satisfy expectation of zero charts overdue > 10 days and no more than 100 at end of month.
Participate in weekly call schedule, one-week night per week with physician as backup.
Participate in Saturday or Sunday rotation (one weekend day per month at TWCCH - MVP).
Participate in holiday rotation, including to work 1-2 holidays per year (with use of a floating day off within 60 days).
Work additional hours/days to cover colleague time off and staffing emergencies as needed.
Participate in nursing home rounds as needed.
Float between all TWC health centers to provide coverage.
SUPERVISION
With respect to the duties and responsibilities of the PA/NP as described in this Position Description:
The duties and tasks will be performed in an outpatient office.
Daily onsite direct and indirect supervision will be provided to the Physician Assistant at the outpatient office; the supervising physician will be at a minimum available to the Physician Assistant via telecommunication; if the supervising physician is not available to the Physician Assistant/NP, a back-up supervising physician, the substitute Physician Assistant/NP supervisor will be identified for the consultation and direction of the PA's activities.
The supervising physician will see patients at the request of the PA, the patient, and/or the patient's family.
The supervising physician will review and sign medical records of the patients cared for by the PA within 10 days.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree from an accredited educational program.
Certification by NCCPA.
Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Pennsylvania.
Demonstrated expertise in relevant medical practices, protocol, trends and best practices in clinical areas assigned. Demonstrated knowledge and success in effecting overall clinical operations.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully.
Proficiency in knowledge of office management, use of computer, software, and office machines.
CPR Certification Required, PALS.
Valid PA driver's license.
