Your role as a Crisis Stabilization - Lead Residential Counselor: CHD'S Community Behavioral Health Center offers both a Youth (13-17) and Adult (18+) Crisis Stabilization Unit. Crisis stabilization is a short-term, voluntary program offering intensive behavioral health stabilization as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization. Services include bur are not limited to: crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, nursing care, individual and group therapy, peer support, short-term treatment planning, discharge planning, and coordination of care with service providers. The Lead Residential Counselor will lead the shift while providing support to direct care staff and clients. Grace House is considered a Medication Observation Program (MOP). The Medication Specialist role is a full-time position and is a combination of Med Specialist and Direct care. The medication specialist primary function is to ensure proper medication observation strategies are being followed, that patient and resident prescription medications and over the counter drugs are being taken properly and desired health outcomes are achieved. This includes initial and ongoing monitoring of medications, addressing medication supply and adherence concerns, and coordinating care between providers, participant, and clinical team. Some additional responsibilities will include; Inventory and storage Monitoring use and safe handling of medications Disposal of medications Transporting medications Assisting in re-packaging medications into pill organizers/boxes and alternative dosage systems Weekly requisitions of all participants' medication regime/adherence in preparation to present to clinical team during weekly clinical meetings Facilitate ongoing communication with leadership and clinical team about any issues relating to medication Interested candidates must have at least two years of working experience in mental health/SUD, one year of working experience with medications or have MAP or MOP certification, associate degree preferred.
