Mac Tools company history timeline

1938

The first step toward their goal was taken on July 11, 1938, when they signed the Articles of Incorporation, and were officially recognized by the state of Ohio.

1944

Mechanics Tool and Forge decided to open an associate company rather than expanding the existing product line, so on October 30, 1944, the Clinton Tool Company was born.

1945

In 1945, Russ Darrah, an industry veteran, presented Mechanics Tool and Forge with a program to buy an allied line of tools.

1961

1961 launched the companies into the modern era, and the brand that's known and loved today was conceived.

1963

Mechanics Tool and Forge officially changed its name to Mac Tools in 1963, leaving the association between Mac Tools and Mac Allied under the collective banner of Mac Tools, Inc.

1970

By the late 1970’s, Mac had grown as big as it could under the structure of the previous forty years.

1990

1990 saw the introduction of the first Mac Tools franchisee in the UK and since then has quickly become the number one choice for professionals all over the country.

1995

Griffin himself settled over fifty claims against Mac Tools for a total of more than $1.8 million in 1995 alone.

2018

In 2018, the first Mac Tools franchisee hit the road in Ireland, the fifth country in the business's international footprint.
