**Engineer Senior - Assembly, Integration and Test**

**What You'll Do:**

+ Support a Ball Aerospace program monitoring and assisting the Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) of a spacecraft in a multiple unit delivery environment.

+ Primary interface to the vendor (Northrup Grumman) for management and technical issues.

+ Provide technical oversight and support to technicians and engineers.

+ Primary focal point to review and provide approval prior to and post all Assembly and Test operations.

+ Author test plans and write, review, update, and implement test procedures/test scripts for the purpose of prototype, qualification, and acceptance testing.

+ Conduct functional and environmental testing on spacecraft or instruments and related electronic, electro-mechanical, or electro-optic components and systems.

+ Generate, interpret, implement, and monitor test requirements from system, detail design, and contract specifications.

+ Maintain required test engineering logs, records, and author test summary reports.

+ During space vehicle Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) operations other Ball personnel will be at the facility this position provides a local presence to organize and coordinate with multiple teams assisting the vendor.

+ The vendor is responsible for Assembly Integration & Test operations. This position is a part of the Prime team and will oversee the vendor team without having direct authority over their personnel.

+ Lead the design, development, build, and certification of automated electrical ground support equipment.

+ Mission understanding: ability to quickly come up to speed on hardware and software, architecture and planned testing requirements and schedule(s).

+ Face-to-face interaction with customers and contractors, able to respond to requests, support to technical meetings, technical interchanges and enterprise working groups involving program testing.

+ Coordination and leading multiple travel teams on numerous production lines.

+ Communicate and work with other Ball Aerospace team members, local vendor team members, off-site and local management, and customers.

+ Provide technical and cost guidance to new business pursuits and proposals.

+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units, and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

+ Perform other duties as necessary.

**What You'll Need:**

+ BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience.

+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

+ Demonstrated knowledge in Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T).

+ A current, active TS/SCI CI Polygraph security clearance is required.

+ Strong System Engineering skills.

+ Ability to quickly come up to speed on technical efforts currently underway a plus.

+ Ability to status management at multiple levels.

+ Hands-on experience in the testing of spacecraft (C&DH, ADCS, power, telcomm) and electro-mechanical components and systems (Optics, mechanisms, image collection). RF experience a plus.

+ Experience in procedure development for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) supporting flight hardware Test.

+ Experience in environmental test design.

+ Good planning and organization skills.

+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

+ Ability to supervise large teams of technicians and senior-level engineers of multiple disciplines.

+ Test Experience:

+ Translating/reviewing requirement test cases.

+ Writing/Updating/Reviewing test processes, plans, and cases.

+ Working with product owners and subject matter experts as needed.

+ Assessing and addressing resources necessary for test.

+ Communicating with management, other program personnel and the customer on testing status.

Compensation:

$15/hr. Differential pay of $2.00/hr. for NIGHT shift.

Shifts 6 Hour shifts on a set schedule. Night & Day shifts available, 7am-1pm/1pm-7pm/7pm-1am/1am-7am

What you'll do:

* Perform the assembly, decoration and packaging operations for finished goods.
* Complete visual quality inspections of parts produced at work center while performing assembly operations.
* Identify work center, work order, and part quality concerns.
* Learn new position responsibilities following the internal growth and cross training plan.
* Participate in safety and team meetings, aiding in the continuous improvement of the overall operation and work environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform quality assembly of mechanical assemblies in a clean, air conditioned work environment. Ability to understand assembly drawings for mechanical devices.

+ Mechanical assembly of package handling machinery

+ Learn ATR legacy machines and perform upgrades and refurbishment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

+ Minimum B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent

+ 3-5 years of experience as a Ship or Submarine trial director

+ 3-5 years of experience as a Test & Evaluation engineer

+ US Navy or US Coast Guard experience highly desired and will be taken into consideration as a substitute for 3-5 years' experience as either a trial director or T&E engineer.

+ Familiarity with marine navigation & at sea tracking systems engineering

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

+ 3+ years working experience with mechanical assembly and repair

+ Proficient with mechanical and electrical hand tools

+ Demonstrated quality workmanship

+ Specialized technical training A PLUS

+ Good English communication skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

+ Must be a U.S. citizen

+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Maintain back shop organization for efficient production in accordance with company policies and procedures.

c. Final Electrical Inspection: This is after the electrical wiring is finished prior to final assembly of the system. The purpose of this inspection is to confirm connectors are tightened, cables are proper fastened down, all items in the notes section have been completed.

d. Final Inspection: This inspection is completed prior to handing the hardware over to the SIL for testing. This inspection focuses on ensuring once the hardware is enclosed no scratches exist on the surface, a shake test confirming everything is securely fastened, all handles, feet are fastened.
