Title: Machine Builder
Location: Elgin, IL
Pay Rate: $22-$28/hr plus overtime with excellent benefits and bonus

Position Overview:
The Machine Builder is responsible for building and assembling of our equipment.

Functional Responsibilities:
* Assemble custom machinery that may include precision mechanical assemblies and electrical components using engineering drawings, job specifications, manufacturer instructions and verbal instructions.
* Assemble mechanical systems consisting of machined parts, gear motor drives, gears, bearings, sensors, conveyors, feeders and other industrial components using hand and power tools.
* Assemble and plumb pneumatic systems, consisting of solenoid valves and pneumatic actuators.
* Troubleshoot assembly issues using precision measuring instruments and work with Supervisor to get them resolved.
* Fabricate items for durability with acceptable appearance and minimal cost.
* Plan and organize projects during the build stage to maximize the efficiency of personnel working on projects.
* Exercise good judgment when making decisions in non-routine situations by understanding customer needs, relating factors (Quality, Cost & Delivery) and risk.
* Maintain a high level of craftsmanship.
* Continuous improvement mindset.
* Keep work area clean, organized and safe (5S) so that tasks are completed in an efficient manner as possible.
* Fully understand and follow Standards and Procedures.

Education & Experience:
* 4-6+ years relevant experience (education/experience or both).
* Strong mechanical aptitude.
* Knowledge of PLC's and AC/DC is preferred
* Basic machine shop skills/knowledge required for measuring and reworking precision parts, deburring, polishing, milling, drilling, tapping, etc.

As a Machine Builder, you will be a part of a team that puts together complex machines by reading detailed schematics that show how to assemble the machine. You will be responsible for determining how parts should connect, by hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together.
