Purpose Statement
Must be able to communicate effectively in group or team environment about safety, product quality.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Pallet Moving
Observes all safety rules and regulations
Palletizes finished cases per specifications
Ensures that each case is properly labeled
Ensures that each case is properly packaged and sealed
Pushes and pulls large amounts of weight with the use of an electric pallet jack or hand pallet jack
Performs similar or associated duties as necessary to accomplish job objectives in an effective manner as assigned by Shift Lead
Supplies packaging materials as needed
Maintains a safe and clean work environment throughout the plant according to GMP and Safety Guidelines
Ensure product meets all Quality and GMP standards
Mixing
Operates processing equipment
Portions and scales ingredients and verifies process control point and product quality
Manages work in process
Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products
Ensures products meets specifications (i.e. weights, temperature, etc.) set by Quality Assurance
Monitors use of safety devices and equipment, general housekeeping and maintains a constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices
Operates mixing equipment according to established SOPs
May make adjustments to ensure quality and correct and consistent weights
Must complete production reports as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Must possess basic math and computer skills, as well as good communication skills, both verbal and written
One year of experience in a food processing/manufacturing/industrial environment is a plus
Must be able to listen and follow basic instructions and work routines from superiors
Responsible for knowing and adhering to Good Manufacturing Standards
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions
Ability to complete reports and forms
Ability to understand and follow safety rules and instructions
Able to work around flour and cinnamon and other bakery ingredients as part of the daily activities
Frequently required standing, reaching, bending, kneeling and moving about the facility
Able to work in both a hot and cold environment
Works in high noise areas and use mandatory hearing protection
May be required to work various shifts
Works with potentially hazardous chemicals and/or equipment

Duties & Responsibilities

Specific duties include (but not limited to):
Operations
Reading production schedules and work orders to determine processing sequences, packing and shipping requirements.
Starting conveyors to load steel coils and/or signaling crane operators to move coils to the required position.
Positioning steel coils on the packaging lines, using crane chain hoists or grabs.
Recording data form the operator control screen for Quality Assurance purposes to ensure that the steel coils have been packed according to specifications.
Adjusting controls to maintain operations, utilizing output form operator control screens.
Observe machineoperations to ensure quality and conformity of packaged coils, ensuring that the products conform to Domestic and Export packaging specifications.
Operating, monitoring, adjusting and maintaining the various packaging machines as necessary to ensure efficient operation, including Oiling, Welding, Stacking, Wrapping, (.i.e. protective film, paper, etc.), Weighing, Labelling.
Taking corrective action to recover the packaging line operation in the event of problems during production.
Repairing, replacing, and maintaining packaging line equipment as needed, using hand tools, such as hammers, screwdrivers but also electrical appliances such as shears, nibblers and load handling devices such as C-hooks, chains, ropes and slings. Cleaning, oiling, and making minor adjustments or repairs to pack line machinery and equipment, including preventative maintenance tasks.
Placing packed steel coils on conveyors, using crane, chain hoists or grabs, or signaling crane operators to transport them to subsequent stations.
Inspecting the prepackaged and packaged product, removing finished packaged coils from the packing line and separating rejected items noting defects affecting width, thickness, surface, shape, edge damage, placing the material on hold for further inspection.
Signaling crane operators to deposit packed steel coils in storage areas.
Printing and attaching packaging line identification tags on finished product for subsequent processing and identification.
Controlling inventory and sorting products for packaging, replenishing packaging supplies, such as oil, wrapping paper, wooden skids, stretch wrap and labels.
Reporting maintenance job orders as necessary.
Instructing new workers in packaging line operation.
Qualifications/Training:
Education: Completion of High School or Secondary Education, AS or Technical degree with equivalent experience is preferred.
Knowledge of production and processing of cold rolled steel would be an advantage.

Meeting daily job assignment standards. Ability to rotate within the assigned work station in a line or within other lines.
Immediately inform the Group Leader/Team Leader of any visual and/or physical defects in production pieces that appear at your work station. Reference operation instructions.
Trim pieces without creating any defects. Perform additional trimming of flash to enable a part to meet customer standard and requirements.
Ensuring that no defective pieces are packed.
Record any non-conforming parts on the productive reports.
Ensuring all conforming parts are correctly packed according to packaging standards.
Ensure that all aspects of his or her area of responsibility is in full compliance with the quality system in place at the operation at all times.
Ensure there are no quality or production interruptions due to lack of giving or seeking information by fully informing the Production Manager of all events affecting production and the shift.
Maintain a productive working environment by good communication, cooperation, positive habits and attitudes.
Record information on scrap sheets and/or downtime sheets regarding scrap parts, and information about machine, equipment and fixture problems.
Follow company safety rules 100% of the time.
Reading, understanding and complying with company safety rules as designated by the YAPP USA Automotive Systems, Inc. Employee Handbook and outlined by the Job Safety Guide.
Take action to promptly correct or remove all workplace hazards and unsafe work conditions.
