DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintains shift documentation (i.e., Metal Detector and Batch Order Verifications) * Reads production schedule and plans accordingly. * Reads and interprets schedule in MicroStrategy. * Able to print labels on different printers, choosing correct program for each printer; move eye and clean printers. * Perform nitrogen testing. * Efficiently maintains the operation of packaging machinery by monitoring codes, dates, and prices. * Maintains an adequate supply of roll stock and ensures all packaging materials are available for each machine. * Set up and write new programs for bag makers. * Writes and/or edits machine micro logic as needed to maintain an efficient and low waste operation. * Creating and modifying code dates. * Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Sets up and makes minor scale repairs and adjustments. * Perform span calibration and/or adjustments on scales, adjust scales linkages so it opens and shuts correctly, make minor adjustments to formers. * Efficiently operates packaging equipment which may include case sealers and robot cells. This includes but is not limited to machine setups, troubleshooting, changeovers, proper running, procedural adjustments, sanitation cleanup, preventative maintenance, and shutdown. * Properly plans ahead for machine changeovers and efficiently changing from one product item to another. * Monitors and adjusts each machine to ensure proper cut off film and bags have proper end seals and back seals as required. * Ensures machines are running at standard speeds. * Monitors product appearance and adheres to weight control program. * Performs bag weight checks every 20 minutes and inspects for quality issues. * Able to run bagger, scales, counting conveyor, seal checker, weight check, case packers, and other auxiliary equipment as needed. * Identifies and resolves packaged product quality issues. * Properly accounts for product run off and handles this product; accordingly, sorts through and reworks all good product * Keeps machines and work areas clean, wipes packaging machines off and blows down area when required to do so. * Immediately reports any maintenance problems to appropriate technician and/or supervisor. * Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection. * Stores supplies in designated areas. * Keeps work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstruction; removes trash from work area floor. * Follows instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identifies/reports issues with equipment; reports all job-related injuries to supervision. * May provide leadership and direction to packers. * May be qualified to perform as Back-up Packaging Coordinator, or other technical/skilled position. * If applicable, may monitor and replenish seasoning on overhead to ensure proper seasoning coverage on product. * Mandatory overtime may be required. * May perform other duties as required. Must insure proper coding is on the bottle, cans, boxes/trays, and if applicable the graphics are acceptable. Must insure closures and lids are properly applied. Verify flavor and size according to schedule. Report any major defects to the Lead person and/or Manager. Monitor the machine while running. Check to see that all bottles, cans are packed into the box correctly. Fill glue pot's as necessary. Verify case code is correct as scheduled. Clear your machine of all products at end of each run and at the end of your shift. Must follow the work rules at all times. GMP compliance MUST be adhered to at all times. Is responsible to report any quality issue to the Lead person, QA Technician and/or Manager. Assist in relieving other operators for lunch breaks. Keep work area clean at all times. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH Safely and efficiently operate the Asphalt Transfer Machine. Control the material transfer vehicle to ensure a continuous supply of asphalt from trucks to the paver without interrupting paving operations. Guarantee consistent asphalt delivery to prevent segregation, maintain mat quality, and avoid cold joints. Monitor asphalt mix temperature and quality during transfer to ensure compliance with project specifications. Coordinate with dump truck drivers and paver operators to synchronize timing and material supply. Inspect the transfer machine before and after shifts; clean, lubricate, and report any mechanical issues. Follow traffic control plans, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and operate equipment with an awareness of ground crew and surrounding hazards. Requirements WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Education: High school diploma or equivalent Field of Study Preferred: N/A Required Work Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience Travel Requirements: DailyTravel Required Prior hands -on experience with material transfer vehicles (e.g., Shuttle Buggy) in asphalt paving operations. Knowledge of Asphalt Mix Handling Understanding of how to maintain proper temperature, prevent segregation, and ensure consistent material flow. Strong Coordination and Communication Skills Ability to work closely with truck drivers, paver operators, and ground crew to keep operations smooth and efficient. Mechanical Awareness: Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure reliability. Proven track record of following safety procedures and maintaining awareness of surroundings, especially in active job sites.
