About Our Opportunity
We are seeking a Machine Operator for our Louisville manufacturing facility. A Machine Operator will perform various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and make any adjustments or changes necessary to maintain a quality product. Provide detailed feedback about your line, and the issues occurring. Report machine settings on your line daily. Being involved in CIL's (clean inspect & lubrication) each day to keep machines clean and find defective parts. Keep tools in their designated area and keep a clean workspace.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain a minimum of two forming presses along with two sets of packaging lines.
Troubleshoot problems during operation for both the forming presses and packaging line equipment.
Supply and install all raw material for the forming presses and packaging equipment as needed.
Monitor quality of product as it is discharged from forming machines, such as formation, stack configuration, print quality, delivery to packaging line, etc.
Monitor the quality of the packaged product after passing through the packaging line.
Execute and maintain all WSWD procedures and standards:
Peer to Peer communication-Huddle to discuss status of production line with shift counterparts. Document productivity and losses
Centerlines-Confirm machine settings and complete deviations when setting note to standard.
CIL's-Clean and inspect equipment daily to find and report defects.
Defect Handling-Complete defect tags for any defects found on the equipment.
6S-Maintain workspace organization.
Breakdown Elimination-Tag parts removed and replaced during a breakdown. Place into part morgue bin
Communicate with assigned Packers to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
Load paperboard rolls onto machine ensuring its placement is correct.
Assist the Packers in packing product when lines are running efficiently.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

When tending spooling machines, mount roll of foil onto unwind stand, thread through machine and start machine.
Observe general operation of line, quality of product, remove entangled foil, and rethread/ restart machines as necessary.
Remove jammed cartons as they occur.
Observe for proper operation of case packer and related conveying equipment.
Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail while operating multiple machines.

Our established client in Louisville, KY is looking to add experienced Machine Operators to its manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining forming presses and packaging lines, ensuring consistent product quality, and supporting continuous improvement through daily maintenance and feedback.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain a minimum of two forming presses and two packaging lines
Troubleshoot mechanical issues during operation of forming and packaging equipment
Load and install raw materials for forming and packaging machines
Monitor quality of products throughout forming and packaging processes
Inspect parts to ensure they meet production specifications and make necessary adjustments
Report daily machine settings and line issues
Assist with CILs (Clean, Inspect, and Lubricate) daily to identify and correct mechanical defects
Keep tools organized and maintain a clean, safe work environment
Communicate effectively with Packers to ensure smooth line operation and minimal waste
Execute and maintain all WSWD standards, including:
Peer-to-peer shift communication
Centerline verifications and deviations
Defect tagging and part tracking
6S workplace organization
Breakdown elimination procedures
Assist Packers with packing duties when required
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
At least two years of manufacturing experience in a similar role
Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Basic math and computer skills
Understanding of machine safety practices, including lockout/tagout and hand tool safety
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand all functions of machinery
Determines materials needed from BOM
Read blue prints and BOM's to determine tolerances and check parts against prints to ensure quality of parts being cut.
Based on appearance and quality of parts being produced, makes appropriate adjustments.
Use basic hand tools such as grinders, drills, clamps, saws, etc.
Use basic measuring tools to measure parts and/or components to check/verify parts/components meet print and tolerance specifications.
Conduct tooling setup, calibration, and offsetting to achieve required performance and quality
Load, unload, and accurately fixture multiple types of part
Adjust cut depths to optimize tool life and cut quality
Setup & operate based upon input provided by CNC routing programmer and determine changes in program as required during the prove out phase of operation
