About Our Opportunity
We are seeking a MachineOperator for our Louisville manufacturing facility. A MachineOperator will perform various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines. The MachineOperator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and make any adjustments or changes necessary to maintain a quality product. Provide detailed feedback about your line, and the issues occurring. Report machine settings on your line daily. Being involved in CIL's (clean inspect & lubrication) each day to keep machines clean and find defective parts. Keep tools in their designated area and keep a clean workspace.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain a minimum of two forming presses along with two sets of packaging lines.
Troubleshoot problems during operation for both the forming presses and packaging line equipment.
Supply and install all raw material for the forming presses and packaging equipment as needed.
Monitor quality of product as it is discharged from forming machines, such as formation, stack configuration, print quality, delivery to packaging line, etc.
Monitor the quality of the packaged product after passing through the packaging line.
Execute and maintain all WSWD procedures and standards:
Peer to Peer communication-Huddle to discuss status of production line with shift counterparts. Document productivity and losses
Centerlines-Confirm machine settings and complete deviations when setting note to standard.
CIL's-Clean and inspect equipment daily to find and report defects.
Defect Handling-Complete defect tags for any defects found on the equipment.
6S-Maintain workspace organization.
Breakdown Elimination-Tag parts removed and replaced during a breakdown. Place into part morgue bin
Communicate with assigned Packers to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
Load paperboard rolls onto machine ensuring its placement is correct.
Assist the Packers in packing product when lines are running efficiently.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), and makes necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is made in a safe, efficient and high quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include:

About The Role
MachineOperatorThe Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America Converting Team is currently searching for Converting Operators. This role will be based out of our Harrodsburg, KY facility.The Converting Operator is responsible for operating a production line for Towel or Tissue products. Manufacturing products according to fixed specifications and standard operating procedures. As member of the converting team, the skilled operator will be responsible for the performance, safety and quality aspects of their work area
What You Will Do
Work within Essity safety standards with an emphasis on keeping coworkers and yourself safe in everything you do by following all safety rules and guidelines as established by company policy and various safety training programs. Understand and communicate all hazards and safety issues to appropriate personnel. Must properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensure that assigned machine is kept running and is producing quality products.
Recognize defect and quality issues and secure the required quality level of the final products by regularly checking the product produced and making necessary adjustments to correct problems.
Lead changeovers and other technical activities as needed.
Order, prepare and install raw materials on the machine according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain an adequate communication flow with previous shift and post shift workers regarding performance of machine.
•Maintain optimal housekeeping in the assigned work area during shift and shift transitions by using the appropriate equipment to clean off machine and dispose of debris in hoppers.
Complete all required documentation and data files needed for tracking purposes.
Utilize Levels Program to increase technical skills and knowledge as part of the normal job progression.
Requirements for Employment
HS Diploma or GED
Due to the nature of this role individuals are required by state law to be 18 years of age or older to be considered
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Previous manufacturing experience - preferred
This position will work a minimum 12 hour rotating shift schedule, alternating between day shift and night shift at 2 week intervals. Ability to work a rotating or "swing shift" schedule is mandatory.
Operators are responsible for continuously monitoring and maintaining quality based on established standards by visual and mechanical inspection of product, as well as working in a safe manner at all times..
Must be able to stand on concrete floors 12 hours per day.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and twist in order to carry out the essential functions of this position.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull 40-50 pounds.
Must be able to safely move materials utilizing proper equipment which may include a forklift, crane, or hoist.
Must be familiar with various hand tools and be able to read a tape measure down to the sixteenth of an inch.
Must have basic computer skills
Must possess a high degree of attention to detail and be able to work in a fast paced, high quality manufacturing environment. Must be ready to work in a challenging environment, may be subjected to swings in temperature as manufacturing areas are not air conditioned.
