    The Pickling & Coating Helper/Operator is responsible for providing loading and unloading material into the vats for processing. Warehouse support by assisting with pulling customer orders, assisting with inquiries, and the verifying tag information to ensure correct product is being processed. Production Capacity: · Starting up the process for the boiler. · Pulling raw material from the plant yard. · Verifying the tag against Production Order. · Loading raw materials for pickling and coating. · Preparing raw materials for pickling and coating. · Wrapping the ends of the raw material together with steel wire to prevent raw material from getting caught in the tank. · Loading products for processing and unloading them after cleaning. · Assisting in general plant clean up and housekeeping. · Being skilled in using measuring instruments (micrometer, Vernier calipers, etc). · Banding Coils, Cut sample (wires) · Packaging of product. · Other duties as instructed by Line Manager. · Having to clean up the sludge machine and area. 5. Quality Assistance: Perform visual inspections of coils and finished products, reporting any bad condition on the products or coils to the Operator. Help to maintain quality standards by following the operator's directions. 6. Communication: Effective communication with superiors, colleagues in the same department, and related departments is mandatory. Troubleshoot problems during operation for both the forming presses and packaging line equipment. Supply and install all raw material for the forming presses and packaging equipment as needed. Monitor quality of product as it is discharged from forming machines, such as formation, stack configuration, print quality, delivery to packaging line, etc. Monitor the quality of the packaged product after passing through the packaging line. Execute and maintain all WSWD procedures and standards: Peer to Peer communication-Huddle to discuss status of production line with shift counterparts. Document productivity and losses Centerlines-Confirm machine settings and complete deviations when setting note to standard. CIL's-Clean and inspect equipment daily to find and report defects. Defect Handling-Complete defect tags for any defects found on the equipment. 6S-Maintain workspace organization. Breakdown Elimination-Tag parts removed and replaced during a breakdown. Place into part morgue bin Communicate with assigned Packers to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials. Load paperboard rolls onto machine ensuring its placement is correct. Assist the Packers in packing product when lines are running efficiently. Other duties as assigned. Status: Non-exempt (Hourly) Job Category: Regular Full-Time Positions are in our Lawrenceburg, Kentucky location. Applicants must be available to work on a 4-day alternating schedule according to the following possible shifts: Monday - Saturday 3:30 pm - 3:30 am Monday - Saturday 4:30 pm - 4:30 am Monday - Saturday 5:30 pm - 5:30 am Basic Function Support Algood's core values by incorporating them in daily thoughts and actions. Monitoring, operating, and adjusting production equipment to maintain production goals. Organizational Relationships Reports to: Production Supervisor Supervises: This position has no direct reports Standards of Performance • Working knowledge of various packaging equipment on the retail production lines • Operate equipment to optimal safety, quality, and efficiency standards • High level of initiative • Ability to be flexible regarding work hours (OT) • Good attendance • Team player • Ability to interface with PLCs to control/operate equipment effectively • Ability to locate and stage materials as needed • Ability to perform sanitation tasks on equipment Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operate, monitor, and adjust machinery on the production line and be able to quickly identify any malfunctions of machine or outputs • Stop machines and report any malfunctions immediately • Assist in rework during idle production times • Responsible for completing all necessary documentation in a timely manner • Staging and loading packaging for the products that will be produced on the line • Ensure continuous cleaning required throughout the shift • Inspect all materials, ingredients, and inventory to ensure food safety procedures are followed • Ensure an open line of communication to management/supervisors. • Coordinate breaks/lunches with other Operators and Supervisor • Other duties as assigned by management Mental and Physical Requirements • Ability to maintain considerable concentration with frequent time pressures and interruptions • Ability to maintain visual attention for extended periods of time • Language Skills: The ability to speak, read, and write in the English language is an essential function of this position. • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units or measure • Ability to occasionally lift or carry minimal weights from 35 to 50 pounds • Ability to occasionally reach, squat, kneel, climb, push, or pull. • Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment including computer software, hardware, and equipment • Ability to analyze and interpret common instructions and schedules • Must comply with all health and safety requirements Working Environment and Conditions • This position requires working in an internal environment.with fluctuating seasonal temperatures. Qualifications This job requires a high school diploma/GED. Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language is an essential function of this position. 2+ years of production experience preferred. Food experience is a plus. Applicant must be able to read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand and adhere to good manufacturing practices in a food manufacturing environment. Experience with RF scanners is helpful but not required. Experience driving a sit-down forklift is highly recommended.
