Essential Functions

This position will span multiple stages of the development process including requirements gathering, algorithm design, prototyping, test and evaluation, and validation and verification testing. This specific role also involves on-site support for experimentation and fielded systems requiring a significant amount of extended travel, both domestic and international.

- Support development of computer vision and machine learning (ML) algorithms capable of object detection, classifying, localizing, and tracking objects of interest from a variety of stationary and mobile sensor platforms with the primary purpose of real-time automated target recognition (ATR)
- Perform visual imagery data science to inform data collection, data labeling, and data selection for training deep computer vision ML algorithms, train the algorithms using the data, and validate data selection and algorithm design through a series of purpose-designed experiments. This includes:
o Analyze ML algorithms to solve a given problem and rank them by their success probability on new data
o Set objectives and develop models that help achieve them, along with metrics to track their progress
o Select appropriate datasets and data representations
o Analyze errors of the data, model, and design strategies to overcome them
- Write and test software to support the integration of machine learning algorithms into aircraft (such as autopilots, payloads, or other functional components) or other systems

Summary
This position is responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC machines and tooling (e.g., tool changes and wear) in the assigned cell or production area. Responsible for machining parts and operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards. Machine Operator will work with various materials and parts from castings. Duties are performed under direct supervision. This individual must be dedicated to the success of Polaris and its quest to continually improve its operations. Perform duties to manufacture Polaris products, meeting OSHA and other compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
* Operates CNC equipment and is responsible for the proper use of machines, tooling and inspection equipment.
* Loads parts into machine and verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run and sample parts.
* Maintains production rate in terms of cycle time, quantity and quality assigned to the job.
* Changes cutting tools and adjusts machine feeds and speeds as needed.
* Understands the manufacturing and machining processes and makes suggestions in how to improve these processes.
* Uses various measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges.
* Verifies fixture setup using all necessary inspection equipment under supervision.
* Makes high quality parts to specifications and assists with the identification of root causes and corrective action for quality problems.
* Understands and follows work orders and documents. Ensures all production process documentation is completed and accurate.
* Performs in process inspection of machined parts and accurately completes the required paperwork such as the Inspection Process (IP) sheet.
* Documents and communicates among shifts any actions taken (e.g., changes, concerns) on machine operations.
* Is able to maintain a balanced workload by prioritizing and maintaining machine set-up, production and maintenance duties.
* Completes secondary operations such as deburring, assembling and washing parts during the machine cycle time per the print and machining process.
* Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows specified safety procedures at all times.
* Participates in required meetings and training.

* Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), traceability and material reject review (MRR) procedures.

What you'll do
Responsible for receiving and pasteurizing liquid raw materials, CIP of silos and line circuits, monitoring equipment and sanitation and housekeeping. The work area includes the receiving area, control room, truck bay, flow plate and the silo area.
Key responsibilities
* Operating downstream of our hygienic fermentation process. Understand the process flow throughout the plant, timing, keeping on task and to schedule with multiple processes occurring at once. Ability to work under pressure and meet flexible changing priorities is a must.
* Operation of pasteurizers, evaporators and CIP units. Maintain documentation on pasteurizer chart recorders an MDA requirement. Troubleshoot problems with equipment and provide assistance or feedback to maintenance in the area when needed.
* Splitting fermentation media and perform a sanitary transfer to various fermentation and storage vessels including the sites 14 silos and fermenters.
* Running the sites two evaporators to precise setpoints of density, temperature, run rate and vacuum. Monitor equipment which will require climbing multiple levels of stairs during a shift and making flow plate connections with durable heavy transfer hoses.
* Document and oversee both incoming and outgoing trucks of raw materials for further processing.
* Keep in communication with the quality department monitoring ongoing processes, fermentations and addbacks. Fill out daily production and communication logs.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers. Basic computer skills including email, spreadsheets and control systems such as SAP and Ifix.
Qualifications and skills
* The physical demands of this position include the ability to walk and stand on a regular basis.
* Must climb stairs and ladders.
* The ability to reach, bend/stoop, crouch, squat, push/pull and manipulate is required.
* Must occasionally lift product from a variety of positions to 30 pounds. Is infrequently required to lift up to 55 pounds.
* Vision, reading and writing are required to perform this job.
* Talking and hearing are not essential functions of this position.
* The job is performed inside with some exposure to the outside. There is exposure to fumes, noise, and chemical agents. Hearing protection is required. On occasion there is close proximity to moving objects. The floor surface is concrete frequently wet in the silo area. The temperature is variable, based on the season and the tasks being performed.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $23.00$ - $28.50 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Summary: The Tiromat Operator will set up, adjust and operate the machines that perform the packaging functions of weighing, marking, labeling, packing, or sealing containers by performing the following duties:
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepares and starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.
* Alerts maintenance of breakdowns and mechanical problems
* Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as changing film or dies, calibrating scales, adjusting guides, setting metal detector, or clearing away damaged product containers.
* Notifies Quality Assurance of any packaged product that may not meet the required Critical Control Points.
* Weigh packages manually per company specifications.
