ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Performs typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts. Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding and all bench operations and inspect. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Competence to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to present information effectively one-on-one. SUMMARY OF ROLE Perform specified tasks in the manufacturing processing of plastic parts involving injection molding and support equipment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate to the lead and QCIT any issues associated with the work area. Perform all tasks according to the Quality Assurance Manufacturing Plans and Operator Instructions (The proper performance and accuracy for all operator job functions including procedures, trimming, packaging, quality, production rates, rework, etc.). Ability to follow instructions. Maintain and obtain proper tools and supplies for specified jobs. Responsible for safety and housekeeping in the assigned work area. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent, or 6 months experience in the manufacturing industry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position involves frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day exposure to high noise levels, and require wearing hearing protection. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is usually in an office within a manufacturing facility with low to moderate noise levels.
