Tend to and operate extrusion machines in a work cell to produce required parts as determined by customer requirements and the production schedule Analyze production data and make necessary adjustments to operation of machines within the work cell Move materials in and out of the line as needed; including packaging materials, raw materials, and finished product Complete necessary documentation; process checks, quality checks, production reporting, etc. Create labels and wrap loads per standard work. Fill in for lead in signing off loads Evaluate part conformance against documented product requirements and stack profiles on load Set-up and start-up any profile for all machines in a work cell Trouble-shoot advanced problems against a defined process and refer complex problems to appropriate support functions; ie - Technicians and Engineering Train new Extruder Operators Identify and communicate appropriately when electrical/mechanical/technical support is needed Participate and sustain 5S activities Work in a safe manner and follow safety policies. Make sure co-workers are working safely and following safety policies Participate in & lead kaizen events and sustain improvements made from those events Lead work cell when needed Perform maintenance tasks as necessary Attend and participate in appropriate training and development programs. To learn more about playing for Team Amcor, visit ************* | LinkedIn | YouTube Responsibilities • Level 2 Machine Operators are classified as full-time Amcor employees. • Machine operators are required to arrive at least 15 minutes (10 minutes Somerville) before the start of their shift. • Perform a variety of select tasks in a manufacturing environment: o Complete product packaging per specifications/instructions. o Weighing of product (if applicable). o Assembling products (if applicable) per specifications/instructions. o Running auxiliary equipment (if applicable) • Carryout machine operator instructions as directed by shift supervisor, runner, and/or quality personnel. • Familiar with customer requirements, completing basic cosmetic inspections on molded products prior to packaging. • Familiar with Amcor part number system. • Communicate product defects to shift supervisor and/or quality inspectors. • Awareness, understanding and acknowledgment of Amcor GMP behavioral requirements as outlined on the Employee General Work Practices FSSR-780-051/052 document. • Maintaining the cleanliness of the workstation o Duties may include sweeping the floor and cleaning equipment within the workstation as instructed by shift supervisor. • Machine operators may be assigned to multiple workstations. • Machine operator duties may also include grinding of scrap product either at the workstation or in a separate area within the facility. o Specific instructions/training and PPE will be provided as needed. • Awareness and avoidance of potential safety hazards. • Properly identifying finished product, placing labels on cartons, pallets, etc., as instructed. • Maintain control of tools and other equipment provided at the start of the shift. Responsible for returning the equipment at the end of the shift. • Awareness of Amcor emergency evacuation procedure. • Maintaining facility security, not allowing anyone into the facility unless instructed to do so by the shift supervisor. • Operating material handling equipment when instructed to do so by the shift supervisor. • Respectful and polite communication with shift coworkers and shift supervision. • Participate in training events. • Awareness and understanding of product safety requirements as it relates to the following: o Waste Management (proper disposal of waste products) o Glass, Brittle Plastics, Wood and Small Metal Policy (potentially contaminating product caused by the presence of foreign objects, jewelry, broken glass and plastic pieces, metal, wood, etc. in the work area, and not using Amcor products as storage vessels or tools) o Sanitation Program (importance of keeping the work area clean) o Pest Control (awareness of the program only - do not touch or move pest control devices) Employee Hygiene (usage of personal protection equipment, wearing clean cloths, washing of hands after touching food, waste, using the washroom, etc.) o Allergen Control Program (understanding Amcor is a peanut free facility) o Chemical Management (proper usage and storage of chemicals) • Perform other tasks assigned by shift supervisor.
