The Manufacturing Services Associate I is responsible for supporting all cGMP manufacturing production suites. They support the production groups by ensuring the suites are appropriately stocked with raw materials and consumables, assemble and autoclave assemblies for use, clean soiled parts, perform daily/weekly maintenance on analytical equipment, and complete scheduled cleaning requirements that are not fulfilled by the companies contracted cleaning staff. They are expected to attain a basic understanding of cGMP compliance while training under close supervision, demonstrating aseptic technique and cross contamination awareness in handling of products and materials.
• Perform 6S and stock each suite daily, clean soiled parts daily.
• Determine production needs for autoclaved assembles and deliver to suites.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance activities on analytical equipment.
• Perform weekly and monthly cleans of inoculum rooms.
• Report all activities in written and electronic documents in accordance with good manufacturing practice (GMPs) and good documentation procedures (GDPs), review documentation as appropriate.
• Attain qualification for all assigned tasks and maintain individual training plan
• Prepare materials for transport and delivery to manufacturing suites. Perform material movements into, out of, and across the production areas.
• Maintain facility and equipment through routine cleaning and sanitization.
• Administrative tasks - attending suite shift exchange, meetings, sending/receiving emails, participating in projects, perform other duties as assigned.

Inspect all raw materials prior to processing. Mark and Cut out defective materials (joins [HTH / M97], start- up sections).
Feed raw materials into machine and ensure that it remains flat, no twists or fold-overs.
Continuously patrol the Mold-in line during production. Check for non-conformance as outlined in documentation.
Monitor cutting to ensure consistent lengths of each piece.
Take S.P.C. samples, measure the length of each, and record the required information.
Maintain S.P.C. traceability records.
Carry out all required testing of product.
Complete changeovers for various sizes and adjust as necessary (flats, glue spray, curl, tension, etc…)
Join ends of materials by heat sealing or with masking tape to ensure continuous running of the machine.
Clean line daily (cutter die/knife, all sensors/eye, surface clean flat areas, remove garbage).
Notify Supervisor/Lead/Maintenance of faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions. Record downtime information.
Ensure established quality standards are maintained for all produced product lines.
Observe prescribed safety rules and regulations. Safety Footwear, Hearing Protection and Safety Glasses are mandatory on the lines.
Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Place all waste / recyclable materials in the proper containers/bins.
Follow established Quality Control and Department procedures.
Follow production order and production control sheets to ensure proper physical characteristics such as tolerances, sealed ends, bulk package, etc.
Responsible for reducing and minimizing waste and ensuring the correct disposal of recyclable materials. Following the action plans developed from the environmental objectives and targets as required.

FMI's manufacturing facility has been a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for more than 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. The focus in Maine is on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) that enable high-temperature components such as: thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips as well as rocket motor throats and nozzles.
Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles.
Your Role: FMI is looking for a Production Operator for our Densification team who are safety and goal orientated team players that help support our manufacturing team. The Schedule for the Production Operator is Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-6:00pm.
Job responsibilities:
Loading/unloading, operate and monitor high temperature and high pressure equipment
Inspect products to ensure specifications are met
Perform mechanical maintenance of equipment
Perform data calculations
Recording of process data and manufacturing records for processes, parts and materials
Ability to work in a team environment
Opportunity to learn and apply Lean principles as part Continuous Improvement activities
Requirements:
Minimum GED or High School Diploma
Previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
Able to read, write and understand job specifications
Basic math aptitude
