+ Employee is required to repeatedly lift and handle battery parts, envelope materials, elements and batteries weighing from grams to 50 pounds.
+ Continuous and repetitive loading of plates into feed magazines and some hand stacking of positive and negative plates.

+ Will process 1000-2400 batteries per 10-hour shift.

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Forklift Operator position in the Salina, Kansas Coatings Division. **Essentials Functions:**
+ Demonstrate excellent judgment in estimating and executing appropriate size lifts
+ Unload and load steel hauling trucks for customers and company
+ Operate equipment safely and efficiently, protecting self and others from accident and injury
+ Document, count, and verify customer piece counts for shipping and receiving
+ Manage paperwork to properly identify incoming materials and outgoing products in accordance with established product control systems and shipping orders
+ Ensure the accuracy of the computers inventory system and the physical location and organization of inventory

**Required Qualifications:**
+ One year of previous experience operating a forklift in a professional environment

**Working Conditions**
The employee is continually exposed to a working environment consisting of smoke and irritating particulate impurities, acid fumes from pickling tanks, and large quantities of windblown dust and ash produced as by-product to the process. In addition, the nature of the industry results in extreme heat in the summer (typically 10-15 degrees above outdoor temperature), and melting snow off of incoming material results in damp, cold working conditions in the winter. The winter conditions are doubly hard to manage. The average employee dresses to be comfortable while doing his / her assigned task, and in doing so, subjects him / herself to chilling and cold as large fluctuations in temperature are brought about by the moving of material in and out of the facility.
