Kodiak is seeking a resourceful individual with broad knowledge and understanding of HVAC and related systems to join our team as a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of HVAC activities for commercial and industrial customers. We are looking for someone who can contribute, grow, think, and create.
This is not a remote position. Candidates must live within a reasonable commute distance to our office in Tacoma, WA (or plan to relocate prior to hire date).
SALARY RANGE: $150,000 to $165,000 per year
JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES (other duties may be assigned)
Work with Sales and Project Managers to provide timely field-related design solutions for our customers
Analyze customer specifications and performance requirements to determine mechanical designs
Assist with budgets, pre-contract designs and presentations
Active participant in all aspects of system design process: research, design, load calculations for system sizing, layout, sizing of components, equipment selection
Manage projects with both internal and external deadlines and changing time constraints
Design all details for construction required elements for installation
Assure all code requirements are met providing necessary information for permit application
Produce O&M's, Commissioning and other documents required for project communication and completion
Perform site surveys as required to verify details necessary for complete and accurate design
Monitor design standards and implement/practice quality control
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Three years related experience in HVAC or construction industry
Related experience in plumbing design preferred, but not required
Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, CAD, Revit a plus
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with HVAC principles and technical applications
Ability to comprehend and implement applicable HVAC related federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
Read, analyze, and interpret information including blueprints, drawings, and equipment specifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Description:
The CMO Engineering Line Lead position provides leadership, manufacturing support and coordination of the engineering department for the CMO line specific projects. This position ensures that contract projects, equipment functionality, compliance support, and capital expenditures are executed per Jubilant HollisterStier management initiatives, compliance guidelines, the JHS project management system, and the capital budget schedule. Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight and leadership to the engineering team roles responsible for their area of responsibilty within the CMO Business Unit.
Drive technical improvements and internal/external responses to equipment and facility observations.
Management of the assigned capital project schedules and budgets.
Assign and oversee engineering projects including internal capital, compliance, and contract manufacturing.
Coordinate and supervise engineering resources to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing for current and upcoming projects.
Ensure designated area, equipment,and engineering infrastructures are compliant to local, state, federal, and international regulatory agencies.
Execute high level projects from conception, consistent with upper management objectives for business growth.
Manage and execute facility and equipment updates to meet company growth and economic objectives.
Support client audits and technical visits.
Effectively communicate project status, constraints and current or potential issues to upper management.

About the role

We're seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help orchestrate and scale the entire ML lifecycle at Cognitiv. As we transition from a legacy platform to a modern, automated, and highly scalable system, this role will be central in shaping the next generation of our ML infrastructure.
You'll own automation across data ingestion, model training, deployment, and monitoring, enabling rapid experimentation and iterative refinement while maintaining operational excellence. This is a high-impact opportunity to reduce bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and drive architectural improvements that power a wide variety of models critical to Cognitiv's growth.
Location: This is a Hybrid role (MTW in office) out of our Bellevue WA or San Mateo CA office.
What You'll Do
Own the entire ML lifecycle-from data exploration and model development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support automated model training, evaluation, deployment, and lifecycle management.
Redesign and optimize systems to handle scalability challenges and complex workflows.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and ML teams to drive alignment and impact.
Take ownership of core codebases while mentoring and supporting junior engineers.

$200,000-$220,000 Base Salary + Equity

The base pay for this position is $165,000 to $190,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
