Marathon's Martinez Renewable Fuels Facility, in Martinez, CA is currently looking for an experienced Machinist (Inside/Outside). Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the Machinist will support the operation of the facility through proper maintenance of rotating equipment and mechanical systems. They will be responsible for the troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and installation of the machinery and mechanical components throughout the facility.

Must be able to use hand/power tools, precision measuring tools, basic shop equipment, and other tools of the trade.
Must have previous experience and knowledge in the troubleshooting, repair, and installation of machinery. This includes lubrication, bearings, couplings, shaft alignment, centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, pump packing, mechanical seals, fans, pully/sheave alignment, gearboxes, steam turbines, and valves.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the facility and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to support irregular or extended work hours and call-out situations when needed.

Anamet provides materials engineering analysis and laboratory testing services to a diverse base of industries, government entities, and law firms. The finished products produced by our machine shop are primarily ASTM test specimens (tensile bars, Charpy V-notch bars, and bend specimens) machined from specific locations on industrial components that are then tested in our in-house mechanical testing laboratory by skilled technicians.
Each job submitted to the machine shop can be somewhat different. We receive large industrial components such as pipe, structural beams, thick-walled plate, castings and forgings, and sometimes very small pieces of material from which test specimens must be machined.

**Overall Responsibilities:**
* Make good parts while running more than one machine
* Setup machines by following written instructions "First Article" setups
* Running new programs and making fixture
* Basic computer skills
* Calipers, Micrometer, Dial Indicator, Allen Wrenches
* Keep parts in tolerance by changing offsets
* Setup vertical or horizontal CNC mills
* Experience working under ISO 9001

Vertical Mill Machinist II - 2nd shift
Machinist Job 25 miles from Albany
The CNC Vertical Mill Machinist II is responsible for the machining of products in order to meet customer specifications with minimum direction from area Lead or Supervisor. Operation and light set-up would be done by selecting and installing tooling, updating fixturing, and pulling CNC machining programs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be a team player as measured by his/her peers.
Ability to operate and perform light set-ups.
Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings and related technical data.
Ability to perform minor preventative maintenance when necessary.
Responsible for maintaining a clean, neat and safe work environment.
Receive daily instructions from Production Supervisor and plan day accordingly using the “Shop Floor Control System”.
Must have proven skill to set up and operate machine centers.
Must be versed in Rotary or Indexing capability 3 - 5 axis milling.
Verify feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
Optimize process to achieve maximum efficiency.
Save updated programs, documents and pictures
Clock in and off operations according to sequence number of the work order.
Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper gauges.
Deburr work in process.
Train operators on the jobs before they start production.
Train new hires or apprentices.
Work in teams to troubleshoot manufacturing problems and perform quality assurance checks of our work
Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
Assists in formulating departmental strategic plan.
ISO9001:2008 and ISO13485:2003 certification and compliance.
Ensure company procedures and “best machine practices” are being always followed.
Safety and OSHA compliance.
Practice all PPE requirements.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum three to five years work experience
Enrolled in or vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred.
Practical knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD & T
Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code
Basic to intermediate tool probe
Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making
Ability to speak basic English language
Must be able to understand three and four axis machining.
Must have a working knowledge of computers.
Must be able to take verbal and written instructions and work from handmade sketches.
Demonstrated knowledge of G-Code programming and machine practices.
Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts
Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
Must be able to lift and lower 30-50lbs.
