Position Summary
Responsible for setting up and machining weldments, tubes, blocks, and pins of all sizes in a timely manner using 2-D drawings and programming an ACU-RITE controller, while maintaining exceptional quality.
Job Responsibilities
Set-up, program, and machine components per print efficiently and accurately
Complete any necessary inspection worksheets
Maintain little to no re-work or scrap
Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes
Keep work area clean and organized
Perform job-related duties as assigned per priority.
Experience and Skills
1 - 3 years' experience as a machinist
Prior experience setting up and operating manual mills preferred
Basic PC navigation
High attention to detail and quality
Ability to read and interpret blue prints
Understand basic GD&T call-outs
Ability to accurately use standard machinist measuring tools
Ability to setup and run “one-off” parts to print efficiently and accurately
Must work well under pressure
Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Machine raw materials or modify old products as assigned by Service Manager.
Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed.
Perform any inspections as required.
Machine any products.
Keep accurate, easy-to-read records of work performed.
Maintain a clean work area.
Maintain safe work habits.
Check and report any shortages and malfunctions to the service manager.
Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
Complete assessment of writeup for materials available and make Service Manager aware of shortages.
Notify Service Manager when parts need to be expedited.
Suggest any additional repairs needed to Service Manager and/or customer.
Make a point to thank every customer. Communication with the customer is a key element of good relations.
Dress like a professional every day.
Periodically review product bulletins, catalogs, and parts book.
Attend company functions and meetings, visiting with customers.
Help maintain cleanliness, neatness and safety of building and lot.
Do not second-guess other technician's work.
Do not assume any liability or place any blame on the company, manufacturers, or other technicians.
Stay current with technical changes.
Give special attention to repeat repairs or comebacks to correct problems and avoid future shop comebacks and unnecessary expenses.
Help control expenses and produce as much quality work as possible.

Set up and operate a variety of manual equipment that a machinist would use. The equipment that the individual will use includes the following: manual vertical mill, drill press, radial drill, hone, and Blanchard grinder. The person is responsible for using this equipment to machine parts to specifications. The person will observe machine operations and verify the accuracy of machine work pieces by use of a variety of precision measurement tools.
Assemble large commercial consumer packaging equipment. This includes subassemblies as well as piece parts positioned in the frame of the machine.

Qualifications:
Prior experience as a CNC Machinist
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Strong attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills
Willingness to work night shift hours

Requirements
You are a good fit if you have:
• HS Diploma or GED
• Exceptional communication, organizational, time management, ability to work in a team, and people solving skills and a high attention to detail are a must.
• Ability to recognize wood species.
• Ability to recognize defects specific to wood species.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to stay focused.
• Knowledge of product line and quality standards of product line.
• Ability to keep work area neat and clean.
• Effectively utilize required equipment and materials to manufacture product.
• Ability to correctly read a tape measure.
• Strong mathematical ability.
Ability to stand for 10 hour days
Lifting upwards of 35lbs to 50lbs

Hours: Monday - Friday 6am to 4:30pm, Saturdays 6am to 230pm. Lots of overtime!!!
