What You'll Do Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of manual machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, saws) to produce precision parts. Read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and CAD models to plan the most efficient machining processes. Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools. Manage multiple assignments with urgency and attention to detail to meet production deadlines. Troubleshoot issues, perform minor machine repairs, and keep operations running smoothly. Participate in R&D and prototyping projects, offering hands-on insights to improve design and manufacturability. Maintain accurate production documentation and promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment. What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or machining apprenticeship preferred. Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist in a custom fabrication, job shop, or R&D setting. Skills: Advanced manual machining techniques and knowledge of GD&T Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-urgency environment Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail Self-starter who takes ownership and thrives in a team setting Work Environment This position is based in a dynamic machine shop with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and industrial materials. JOB SUMMARY: The Manual Machinist is responsible for fabrication, modification, and operation of industrial machine tools and parts to precise specifications. The Manual Machinist develops and maintains these tools and parts utilizing knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. You will be familiar with machining on equipment such as: Vertical Turret Lathes and/or Manual Lathes.
