If you're a CNC Machinist (Level 2), we have an exciting opportunity for you! In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and take responsibility for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment, such as vertical and horizontal mills and lathes in an industrial setting. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, moderate decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
** This is a 2nd shift position, Monday to Friday (8 hours shift), starting at 2:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Performs complex Set ups and operates numerous CNC or Manual (Lathes/Milling/Swiss/Grinding-OD/ID) machines, and other machinery to produce precision metal parts according to specifications.
Performs supporting operations (ex. manual material removal, sub-assembly, etc.) while following established procedures
Performs 1st piece inspections and is required to train in these processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Performs basic Set up and operates multiple CNC or Manual (Lathes/Milling/Swiss/Grinding-OD/ID) machines, and other machinery to produce precision metal parts according to specifications.

We are looking to hire an R&D Machinist who will be responsible for fabrication of parts, machine setups, fixturing, and upkeep of the H3X machine shop. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in a shop environment, be experienced with a range of machining practices and pay great attention to detail. This is a dynamic role that will apply machining practices in a variety of ways and must be flexible to adjust to critical-path deliverables and quick-turn machining operations.
Responsibilities
* Setup, program, and run CNC machining centers, manual mills and lathes, and other shop equipment.
* Machine a broad range of materials, including exotic metals.
* Produce precision components (down to .0005") from prints, modify existing parts, and inspect form and fit.
* Make, modify, or improvise tooling and fixtures when needed to complete assignments.
* Solve problems creatively, coming up with solutions to design issues related to machinability.
* Perform inspection of products using equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, surface plates, & bench centers as required as per GD&T standards.
* Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tools.
* Manage tooling, stock, and machines within shop.
* Work closely with Engineers to optimize design, workflow, and part production.

Job Function:

Maintains current knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
5- 10 years in machine shop environment.
Well versed in CAM software with CNC mill and lathe experience.
Experience with calculating feeds and speeds based on cutter type, cutter geometry and parent material type.

Physical Requirements:

Typical Working Conditions:

JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday.
