About the Role
The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining facility dies and parts to ensure quality parts for all manufacturing departments. This position requires the ability to train others and be a backup to the Team Leader when necessary.
What You'll Do
Assists with equipment setups, adjustments and installations using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and devices.
Produces and maintains class “b” tools & dies from detailed drawings, prints & specifications or from verbal instructions. Makes sketches and works from same. Class “b” includes single operation dies and simple progressive dies.
Operates and sets up all tool room equipment as well as punch presses. Has a basic knowledge of heat treating and tool steels.
Assembles die parts on die shoes when furnished by machinists for final assemblies.
Designs simple tools, dies, jigs and fixtures for production areas. Builds drill jigs and fixtures for production areas. Performs troubleshooting as required.
Maintains a safe, orderly and clean work area. Performs preventative maintenance on machinery tools. Completes required paperwork
Able to work in a team environment to include relieving other associates in instances of breaks, absenteeism, vacation or other production requirements.
Performs any other duties as assigned or directed by Team Leader / Supervisor.
Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures.
Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Additional Expectations
Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You'll Bring
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previously completed a Tool & Die Apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
5-10 years' experience in manufacturing or in a machine shop environment.
CNC Programming preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Ability to stand and/or walk, bend, stoop or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift.
Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Always has safety first in mind when working at ADDMAN, uses all personal protective equipment as required. Ensures all equipment and forklifts are functioning per design and function. Shuts down equipment and stops operations in unsafe conditions, lockout/tagout when necessary.
Utilizes work instructions, set-up sheets and method documents to correctly operate machines and inspect machined parts.
Reads and interprets all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Accurately reads and records information (i. e. material manufacture date, number of parts produced, and other criteria) that is critical to the production process.
Follows instruction from a traveler/router and machining procedures to perform the machining process.
Operates various equipment and makes various parts to precise specifications utilizing knowledge of metal properties, set ups, layouts, and precision machining procedures.
Ability to read and understand sketches, blueprints and thorough understanding of tools and proper use of fixtures.
May set up, or learn to set up, and run CNC or manual machinery.
Adjust controls to vary the depth of cut, RPM and rate of feed efficiently.
Updates inventory systems for usage and scrap and prepares Material Tags for non-conforming parts.
Capable of following detailed manufacturing processes to produce high-tolerance parts.
Adheres to the AS9100 and ISO 9000 standards and complies with internal Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
Utilizes various gauging equipment to ensure conformance to the engineering specifications and standards through the production run i.e. calipers, micrometers, gage pins height gages, dial indicators and precision scales.
Maintains an accurate count and record production pieces and hours of production.
Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned tasks. Actively participates in housekeeping and 5S efforts by maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe work area.
Keeps equipment and product free of FOD, Foreign Object Debris.
Promotes teamwork within the organization.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
