This position is ideal for someone who combines advanced programming knowledge with hands-on machining expertise and enjoys taking complex concepts from design through finished production.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine machining steps, materials, tooling, and production sequence.
Create and edit CNC programs from CAD data to support daily production needs.
Operate, set up, and troubleshoot milling and wire EDM machines to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Translate R&D and prototype designs into fully machined, production-ready components with minimal supervision.
Partner with engineering to refine designs for manufacturability and recommend process improvements.
Monitor production quality, verify tolerances using calibrated measuring tools, and ensure compliance with specifications.
Stay current with machining technologies and learn new software or equipment as needed.
Collaborate closely with tooling, inspection, and assembly teams to meet production goals.
Assist with machine maintenance, repairs, and overall shop organization.
Support operators with setups, adjustments, and technical problem-solving.
Maintain consistent safety and housekeeping standards in all work areas.
Qualifications
Proven experience in CNC programming, setup, and troubleshooting.
Ability to manage the complete design-to-production process, including prototype and small-run development.
Mastercam proficiency or ability to learn new programming tools quickly.
Strong understanding of machining principles, shop math, and material properties.
Tool and Die or precision manufacturing background preferred.
High mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
