Use computer programs to enter part data (e.g., serial numbers), log time, access instructions and blueprints, and download programs.

Utilize various gauging equipment to ensure conformance to engineering specifications and standards throughout the production run.

The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in a shop environment, be experienced with a range of machining practices and pay great attention to detail. This is a dynamic role that will apply machining practices in a variety of ways and must be flexible to adjust to critical-path deliverables and quick-turn machining operations.
Responsibilities
* Setup, program, and run CNC machining centers, manual mills and lathes, and other shop equipment.
* Machine a broad range of materials, including exotic metals.
* Produce precision components (down to .0005") from prints, modify existing parts, and inspect form and fit.

Job Function:
The Sr. Machinist handles all aspects of running a machine shop and is responsible for operation of both manual and CNC machines, programming and assisting with estimating work.

Physical Requirements:
Strength and Stamina: The job may involve lifting and moving parts or materials, typically up to 50lbs. The ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) is required.
Manual Dexterity: Precise hand movements are necessary for handling tools, making adjustments to machines and operating a computer.
Visual Acuity: Good eyesight, including close vision and depth perception, is important for detailed work and inspecting finished parts.
Mobility: Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching is required, along with the ability to maneuver around machinery and equipment.
Coordination: The role requires good hand-eye coordination to operate machines safely and effectively.
Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors.
Typical Working Conditions:
Machine and fabrication shop environment around equipment such as water jet tables, lathes, milling machines and press brakes. Welding operations are often taking place nearby.
