Our Taneytown, MD Pump Manufacturing facility is over 150,000 square feet and provides capability for engineering, design, customer service, machining, assembly, and testing for a diverse product portfolio, which serves all markets (power, oil & gas, water resources, general industry, and chemical). The facility has expanded four times since opening in 1971 to accommodate revenue growth and product line developments. The entire project lifecycle is experienced all under the same roof.
Role Summary:
Flowserve is looking for a Machinist at our manufacturing facility in Taneytown, MD. The candidate should be proficient in the set-up and operation of manual lathes, with exposure to CNC. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the general manufacturing environment to include, able to work safely, able to machine tolerances +/- .001, precision tool grinding, the use of overhead jib cranes, ergonomics, and inspection equipment. This machinist position requires self-inspection of parts, able to use trigonometry to find dimensions, understanding of geometric tolerancing, and being able to work in a safe and efficient manner.
2nd shift: Mon - Thur 3:30 pm - 2:00 am - 5% Differential
Responsibilities:
Machinist with experience running castings on manual and CNC machines.
Maintain clean and well-organized work area at all times while maintaining all tooling and machinery for efficient and safe operation.
Accurately machine to within a +/- .001 tolerance and familiar with prints with geometric tolerances.
Comfortable with all types of precision measuring equipment and working in English and Metric systems.
Experienced with jib and overhead cranes lifting large castings.
Understand and operate machines, tooling, and measuring equipment properly and safely.
Adhere to all Safety Procedures & Policy. Complete all Pure Safety and other safety training as required.
Requirements :
3-5 years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes/mills.
Experience in using and interpreting precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, geometric tolerances, and finishes during the application of machining.
Ability to work in a team oriented and CIP environment
Ability to read and interpret instructions and drawings
Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions
Able to stand for long periods, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work overtime as required
High School Diploma or GED or relevant years of experience in lieu of education
Preferred:
Machinist certification, training or degree related to machining is a plus.
Experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
Forklift certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops, and other mandatory safety equipment.
For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Primus Aerospace is currently seeking CNC Machinists to work at our Reisterstown facility. We are willing to pay a premium for experienced Machinists but we are also looking for aspiring machinists looking for an opportunity to start their careers.
Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.
Weekend shift; Friday, Saturday, & Sunday 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM
CNC Operator Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Operate CNC machines from provided work instructions from work order or set up personnel
Verifying dimensional characteristics of parts
Meet expected cycle times and production schedule
Completion of all required paperwork
Previous CNC Operator experience: mill turn and lathe
GD&T print reading
Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, metrology.
Can do machine set-ups, is a plus
Can indicate vices.
Coordinate x, y, z
Knowledge of machining principles
Operate CNC machines from provided work instructions from work order or set up personnel
Verifying dimensional characteristics of parts
Meet expected cycle times and production schedule
Completion of all required paperwork in a timely manner
Requirements
Previous CNC Operator experience; Min. of 4 years
Previous set-up experience; Min. of 1 year
Reading blueprints and using hand tools
Prioritizing tasks and maintaining production goals
Self-starter with a good attitude
Attention to detail and a strong desire to produce quality products
Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing lean manufacturing techniques is preferred
Previous experience in Aerospace or defense machining environment preferred.
Ability to obtain secret security clearance highly desirable
Pay Range: $23-26/hour, work 3 days, 12 hours shifts and get paid for 40 hours
