We are hiring CNC Machine Operator - Level III at Collins Aerospace in JacksonvilleFL location.
This individual will be responsible for tooling setup and machining new parts by executing programs and operating a variety of computer numerical control (CNC) or manual machines (3 axis and 5 axis CNC).
This position will be involved in new product testing and new production deployment. This person will liaise with other operators and departments where appropriate to ensure the Machining section meets the required demands and reports directly to the Machining Manager.

What You Will Do
Set-up and operate multiple CNC Machine Centers, machining of complex fiberglass products
Maintain a safety first and teamwork mindset
Aid the setting up and proving out of programs with CNC Programmer
Meet and sustain Certified Operator requirements
Support and manage the machine tooling to best achieve drawing tolerances, including offset adjustments and tool wear identification

Participate in EHS risk reduction activities

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires HS diploma or GED or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of 5 axis CNC machine center experience.
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

The Machinist II is an intermediate level position that performs hand and machine operations to cut, form, fit, assemble, and install various metals, plastics and composites used in the manufacturing, repair, and modification of training systems.
Essential Job Functions:

Job DescriptionCNC Machinist Operates two or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets. Contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Works with general guidance in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Sets up and runs production machines. Performs machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming parts, where the materials, tooling, and sequence of operations have been pre?planned and established. Makes necessary machine adjustments and reports improper functioning or cutting action for correction.
2. Performs operations such as tapping, spot?facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring to close tolerances.
3. Aligns and fastens parts using standard fixtures and established methods.
4. Adjusts feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation.
5. Removes burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, or other irregularities from machined parts. Burring operations involve general production parts ranging from the simplest to the more complex.
6. Inspects parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, gages, and comparators. Uses various types of magnification equipment to detect and avoid damage to surfaces and critical areas. Visually inspects parts for burrs and damaged machined surfaces.
7. Routinely maintains equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to division requirements.
8. Accurately and regularly performs all statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements.
9. Actively participates in lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. Applies lean concepts and tools in work area.
10. Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.

POSITION SUMMARY

2. Sets ups, adjusts, and operates a variety of conventional and/or special purpose machines to perform the most diversified and difficult production operations on work having close and exact tolerances, several dimensional relationships, unusual contours, dimensional and finish requirements.
3. Interprets customer requirements from blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, quality directives, charts, tables, sketches, and verbal instructions.
4. Interfaces with engineering to resolve drawing errors, suggest design changes, and solve product/process problems.
5. Implements manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials, and tooling. May advise and assist with tooling design.
6. Makes complex setups, which may include multiple work piece stations, utilizing custom and standard holding devices.

Labor One is currently hiring Outside Machinist in San Diego, CA at a Shipyard. Pay rate is up to $25 + $150 perdiem, if eligible. Local Compensation up to $35.00 Job Requirements: Installs, maintains, and repairs ship's propulsion and auxiliary systems; including, but not limited to, Steam, Turbine, Electrical, and Diesel propulsion systems, rudders and steering gear, elevators, and Navy UNREP systems. Installs, repairs, and maintains ship's fluid systems which include pumps, compressors, purifiers, heat exchangers, actuators and valves.
Tests equipment to ensure systems meets specifications. Installs and tests various shop equipment.
Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
Qualification Standards
High school or equivalent education. Minimum three years of experience in a related field, or graduate of a Diesel or Aircraft Mechanic training school, or three years in any of the following Navy ratings: MM (BT), AD, CM, EN, GS, HT, or MR. Must comprehend written and verbal instructions (in English). Must be able to hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings.
Essential Job Tasks
Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, written instructions/ technical manuals.
Must read have the ability to read and comprehend hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
Must be capable assembling/ installing complex mechanical systems, while meeting alignment criteria of systems and equipment.
Proficient in use of precision measurement tools. Must understand both Imperial and Metric measuring systems. Must have shop mathematic skills, with understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and work with decimals and fractions.
Must maintain constant safety awareness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate knowledge of shipyard safety best practices (i.e. job hazard analysis (JHA), fire prevention, electrical safety, tool safety, fall protection, hazardous waste operations, confined space entry, hot work operations, etc.).
* Demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain a sand blaster, parts washer, steam cleaner and paint booth.
* Demonstrate knowledge of basic math and measuring (i.e. addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, how to read a tape measure, etc.)
* Ability to properly care for and use basic tools (e.g. flashlight, tape measure, pliers, feeler gauge, Allen wrench, crescent wrench, combination wrench, socket wrench, Ford wrench, pipe wrench, ball-peen hammer, soft hammer, Phillips and flat head screwdriver).
* Knowledgeable of how to find compartments of the ship by space number, and know port from starboard, and forward from aft.

Summary:
The Machinist II is an intermediate level position that performs hand and machine operations to cut, form, fit, assemble, and install various metals, plastics and composites used in the manufacturing, repair, and modification of training systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Plan work sequence, repair methods, equipment needs, and material requirements from engineering drawings, applicable specifications, airframes service changes, bulletins, contractor and vendor drawings, and repair manuals, examines and evaluate damage, wear, corrosion, misalignments, and other deficiencies.
Use fixtures when applicable to determine proper alignments of material, parts, proper dihedral, incidence angles, and indicating parts in relation to critical datum points.
Skill in applying shop mathematics in establishing needed dimensions, such as those required for circular interpolations, machining angular surfaces, or locating datum points and probing surfaces that need to be machined. Skill in programming machining operations, setting up, and operating CNC and machine tools.
Must be able to edit EIA programs and adjust wear offsets.
Work to maintain close tolerances.
Lay out and manufacture parts such as splices, reinforcements, inspection plates, clips, angles, brackets, etc.
Specialize in operating one or more than one type of machine tool such as a jig borer, grinding machine, engine lathe, vertical milling center, and various machines to machine metal for use in making or maintaining jigs, fixtures, cutting tools, gauges, or metal dies or molds used in shaping or forming metal.
Plan and perform difficult machining operations that require complicated setups and/or a high degree of accuracy, setting up guides, stops, working tables, and other controls to handle the size of stock to be machined.
Determine proper feeds, speeds, tooling, and operation sequence or select those prescribed in drawings, blueprints, or layouts.
Work using a variety of precision measuring instruments, making necessary adjustments during machining operations to achieve requisite dimensions to very close tolerances.
Set up and operate machine tools, and use hand tools to make repairs, shape, fit, finish, and assemble metal parts, tools, gauges, models, patterns, mechanisms, and machines.
Select the coolants, cutting and lubricating oils and fluids to dress tools when required.
Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
