The **Machinist** performs work associated with renovation, repair, fitting and assembly of metal parts of machinery or equipment necessary for maintenance or building of new equipment. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Work with CNC programs, blueprints, company standards, work instructions, and performs necessary calculations using shop math to complete tasks related to making aircraft parts.
Apply edge fill compound to honeycomb panels.
Receives and verifies raw materials (i.e., wood, aluminum, plastics, etc.) on carts from the warehouse using information such as the CAMS Order and Nest sheet.
Perform quality checks of fabricated items.
Communicate and interact with programmers and management to understand intricacies of programs and to efficiently operate the machines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Complete tasks within assigned time limits.
Determine work to be accomplished to complete assignments within established schedules and plan accordingly.
Accurately log computerized labor data collection for time and attendance tracking.

The Aftermarket Repair organization (PSD) located in Springdale, AR is looking for a Machinist Technician for AWW Shift. Shift earns 8% shift premium after training period on 1st shift. The right candidate will
Write programs and modify existing ones for increases efficiency
Utilize CAD/CAM
Analyze job order and make calculations for programming
Create, document and back up all programs. Update set-up sheets and tool lists as required
Determine sequence of operation in a program
Plans / performs complex disassembly and assembly work duties
Performs setup and operation of various machine tools producing various close tolerance parts
Assure quality and production requirements are met. As per travelers and blueprints, etc.
Monitor all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task.
Completes forms, routers and related paperwork
Keeps work area, tools and equipment clean and orderly
Performs grit blasting, powder coating, operates the tool crib and completes all related tasks
Performs a variety of non-destructive tests; takes measurements, records conformance/ nonconformance, on first piece, in process and upon final inspection.
Reviews procedures, layouts, templates, jigs, incoming parts, assemblies and related tasks
Reviews and assists with development of all job related JSA's/Work Instructions
Performs clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc.
Moves equipment, and parts using the fork truck, crane, or other material handling equipment
Assists other employees as directed by management or group leaders
Is a safety minded worker who is drug free and dependable with an excellent attendance record
Reports and/or corrects all unsafe conditions immediately
Reports any safety incidents promptly.
Mentors other employees as needed

Collaborate closely with machine repair teams to optimize the efficient production of essential machined parts, utilizing manual machining tools for timely machine repairs
Perform routine maintenance on manual machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Use precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges to verify dimensions
Responsible for maintaining an organized and up-to-date inventory of specially machined parts essential for machine repair
Perform tip and die repair of production tooling as needed
Responsible for the installation and support of all capital projects as deemed necessary
Support other Plant Engineering department activities
Adhere to all AmerCable's Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices

Skills preferred include:
High school diploma or GED
Must have formal training or apprenticeship in machining

A CNC Machinist will set-up, check programs and operate CNC turning or machining centers to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations to meet precise tolerance and finish requirements.
A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:
Selects, Positions, and aligns dies in machine ram and bed.
Understand program format, work from operational data defining and coding tooling, fixturing and machine arrangements.

Repair and maintain the computer-controlled systems and robotic devices used within the facility to reduce human intervention and maximize efficiency. Duties require knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and computers. Technicians are to perform routine checks on automated systems, monitor systems, and isolate problems and perform repair. When problems occur, technicians are to determine if problem is electrical or mechanical from the computer system controlling the processor or schematics associated with equipment. Once issue is diagnosed, the technician must repair or replace any necessary components, such as sensors, cabling, valves, motors, or electrical wiring.
Skills/Requirements:
Maintain and clean out mold tooling as required.
Perform all duties required to clean and maintain mold tooling after production runs. Disassemble mold tooling after production runs, clean all mold steels, remove any gas build up, clean and check all vents for proper venting of gas, remove all ejector pins clean and replace if necessary, change mold steels out in the mold tool as required for mold change, clean out and tip hot runner system - replacing tips and heaters as required.
Re-assemble mold tooling after cleaning , replace any needed parts, Check to make sure everything is re-assembled correctly. Water test mold for leaks. Test hot tip manifold for proper working conditions.
Help with any production processing problems that may arise throughout the shift and may be tool related. Repair as required if possible.
Determine if work can be done in house or needs to go to an outside vendor. Prepare information required for successful repair by outside vendor. Prepare mold and or components to ship to the vendor.
Work closely with production control on all mold cleaning and repairs. “Time Frames”
Keep tooling areas as safe and clean.
