This is an experienced position to work in the Machinist Trade. Machinists primarily set-up and operate machine shop equipment including (but not limited to): lathes, radial drills, grinders, presses, punch presses, cut-off saws, milling machines, HBM, VTL, rolls, sheers, brakes, and burning machines.
Applicants hired into this position shall generally be able to operate most equipment with minimal training based on prior experience, including CNC operated equipment. Machinists may be assigned any of the Machinist Trade tasks.

Operate CNC and conventional lathes, milling machines, and grinders, ensuring safe and efficient production of quality parts.
Optimize machining processes by making adjustments to setups and operations to improve efficiency and part quality.
Verify part conformance using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) and take corrective action as needed.
Document and report deviations in machining processes via Process Discrepancy Reports (PDRs) and assist in root cause analysis.
Train and mentor less experienced machinists to enhance technical competencies within the team.
Follow all safety protocols, operational procedures, and quality standards to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing or production setting.
Strong knowledge of CNC and manual machining operations (lathes, mills, grinders).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Proficiency in precision measuring tools and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Experience troubleshooting machining processes and optimizing production.
Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and mentor junior machinists.
CNC programming knowledge (G-code, M-code) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Position Overview:
The Machinist Level 2 sets up previously proven jobs and runs production on various production machines and perform edits as needed.
Responsibilities:
Sets up repeat jobs on production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment.
Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches work holding fixtures, cutting tools, clamps, accessories, and other materials on machines.
Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
Ability to utilize various measuring tools including Optical comparator, and mechanical tools such as micrometers etc.
Identifies issues or out-of-tolerance conditions; adjusts offsets of machine to correct errors or maintain tolerances as needed.
Deburrs and cleans parts as needed.
Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup and fills out required paperwork.
Starts or restarts equipment after power outages or interruptions.
Maintains a safe and orderly production area.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Competencies and Skills:
Candidates applying should possess the following requirements and demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of the position:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certificate in Machine Tool or related Trade preferred but not required.
At least one year of experience is preferred
Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs, drawings, and documentation
Working knowledge of geometric tolerances and how they are applied
Working knowledge of Fanuc and Yasnac controls preferred
Ability to quickly learn, production equipment
Ability to keep a clean and organized work area
Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to operate machines
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
