CNC Operator/Machinist I
As a CNC Operator/Machinist I, you perform precision machining and produce high quality parts by setting up, editing and operating computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and cleaning up the machines as well as troubleshooting, diagnosing, and making mechanical adjustments and repairs as needed. You also inspect machined product to ensure compliance with design and layout specifications.
Key responsibilities:
Review drafted work orders and coordinate production requirements with CAD Engineer
Conduct machining production requirements on all jobs assigned to you
Participate and Conduct testing as required
Communicate with engineering and design regarding change orders as required
Adhere to all safety regulations in accordance with OSHA standards
Operate overhead cranes and lifts safely and efficiently as needed.
Produce high quality machined components for use in Abbess products by operating precision machinery, cleaning, and deburring parts, and measuring machined parts for design compliance.
Setting up, cleaning up, and maintaining machining equipment.
Assisting in general operation of the manufacturing floor, including: picking and pulling material, assisting in assembling products, and maintaining facility organization and cleanliness.
Completing all required documentation, including project time logging and computer data entry.
Participating in, adhering to the continuous improvement process, and following all procedures in the companys quality management system
Be willing and possess the ability to be trained on CNC Burn table, Laser, Water Jet, Saws or other CNC equipment as required. Experience preferred, but not required. Machine specific training to be provided.
Programming and machining parts using Proto Trac.
Load/unload machine.
Perform first piece and periodic inspections as required utilizing layouts, tape measure, calipers, micrometers, and pin gage sets.
Perform basic machine maintenance and clean up.
Complete all required paperwork and computer data entry.
Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Be willing to participate in continuous process and performance improvement initiatives.
Competencies
Possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as independent of instruction or direction.
Perform any necessary additional tasks as requested by immediate supervisor.
