As a Tool Room Machinist, you will be responsible for maintaining production tools, tooling inventory, modifying tools, assisting operators with tooling needs, operating a variety of tool room equipment including but not limited to, lathes, mills, grinders, hones, EDMs. This position works a Monday - Thursday shift - 3:00 pm 1:30 am with overtime as needed. This shift is eligible for a $1.00 shift differential.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Operating tool room equipment to modify and repair production tooling to support production needs. (70%)
Managing the Kan-Ban system to maintain inventory of production tooling. (20%)
Communicating with vendors and placing inventory orders for tooling. (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a tool room high production atmosphere, preferably in a cold heading environment.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on concrete all day.

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This position plays a key role in the manufacturing process by interpreting blueprints, programming or loading G-code, selecting appropriate tools, and performing quality checks using precision measuring instruments. The CNC Machinist ensures production runs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the shop floor operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or other computer-controlled machines to perform a variety of tasks including drilling, cutting, and shaping metal parts.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining operations.
Load programs into machines using G-code or conversational programming software, and make necessary adjustments for accuracy and efficiency.
Select, install, and align tooling and workholding devices to ensure proper machining.
Monitor machine operation during production runs to detect and resolve malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized.
Accurately complete production and inspection documentation as required.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with company quality standards and procedures.
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining or CNC operation preferred.
Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments.
Familiar with G-code and CNC programming basics; experience with FANUC, Haas, or Siemens controls a plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
Basic computer skills and the ability to enter data accurately.
Preferences:
At least 2-3 years' CNC Machinist experience, preferred
Familiar with HAAS VF7, HAAS VF10, HAAS VF9, Okuma, Mazak VTC, Mazak FJV
Familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC software
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Values precision and enforces quality standards
Ability to understand G and M -code
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time.
Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle tools, operate machines, and feel parts.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, and stoop as needed to access machinery and materials.
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance; occasionally lift heavier items with mechanical or team assistance.
