Key Responsibilities:
* Setup/teardown of machine tools - Load and/or unload jaws, fixtures, tooling as needed.
* Download programs from central database.
* Read and understand programs to better understand process.
* Load and unload parts from machine.
* Utilize measuring equipment for frequent inspection of in-process and finished product to control quality through the machining process. Including micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, rail gauges, etc.
* Monitor cutting tools and make adjustments as needed, make machine offsets and index or change inserts as needed.
* Make tooling changes as needed to improve process.
* Keep immediate area clean and orderly.
Desired Qualifications:
* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
* 1-5 years of previous experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment.
* Be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
* Be able to work second shift Mon-Thu (4PM-2:30AM) or Special Work Week Shift Fri-Sun (4AM-4:30PM).
Summary Pay Range:
$22.20 - $33.29

This CONUS - Oklahoma City, OK |Machinist (Level 2) - Aerospace Medical Research (AMR25) Contract Contingent position currently best aligns with the Machinist (Level 2) Labor Category. Machinist (Level 2) - Aerospace Medical Research (AMR25) Candidates shall work to support requirements for (Aerospace Medical Research Services) and shall work as part of a team in support of Aerospace Medical Research efforts. The candidate will complete tasks and activities contributing to deliverables and core mission functions in the Aerospace Medical Research space.
Must provide the following services that are required to support AAM-600 research:
- Fabricate, modify, and assemble test fixtures and associated mechanical components used to conduct studies and tests. This equipment is often one of a kind, and ranges from large welded steel structures to small precision parts. Specifications for this equipment may be provided in the form of drawings, written instructions, or verbal instructions from Team personnel. Examples of tools used are:
• Manual milling machine.
• Engine lathe
• MIG, TIG, and arc welders
• Plasma torch
• CNC Plasma table
• General metal shop tools (drill press, band saw, belt sander, cutoff saw, bench grinder
• General wood shop tools (table saw, radial arm saw, band saw)
• Power hand tools (drills, saws, sanders)
• CNC milling machine
- Coordinate with other Team personnel to ensure test equipment construction efforts meet the overall requirements and schedule necessary for successful completion of studies or tests.
- Support the study or test preparation and execution. This includes assisting with installation of test fixtures and test dummies and with sled system operation.
- Follows normal shop safety practices as well as the unique practices required for safe conduct of studies or tests. Assists with necessary housekeeping activities in the laboratory and shop areas.
- Operation of a forklift.
- Operation of hoists and lift tables for material handling.

Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma
- Three years of machining experience in a job shop such as:
