The successful candidate will report to the Machining Supervisor and perform machining duties with the manufacturing environment. The Role Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a CNC Machinist 3rd Shift to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa.
The key responsibilities of this CNC Machinist include, but are not limited
to:
Is knowledgeable in CNC machining and secondary equipment
Assists Production Supervisors with all aspects of KPI requirements (Safety,
Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost)
Active participant and advocate of Lean & 5S culture company wide
Follows "in-process" quality inspections and works with team members to
ensure total quality
Aids in feedback to planning & engineering to optimize productivity
Provides translation service for team members when required
Ensure usage of correct gauging, hand measuring tools & metrology equipment
to deliver the highest possible quality components for our customers
Support preventative maintenance of equipment and report machine issues to
production supervisor

Operations:

Introduction:
We are seeking a Shop Machinist to join our Repair Center team on the 2nd Shift. You will be responsible for operating machines to ensure all parts and products meet quality standards through precise measurements and inspections. In this position, you will report to the Repair Production Manager.
This position is located in Mesa, AZ and will have little to no travel involved, however, may involve up to 5% of travel.
What you'll do:
* Work in collaboration with Repair Production Manager and Repair Center Leads to ensure projects are tracked for completion.
* Keep Repair Center Lead apprised of assembly status and escalate issues.
* Operate and maintain CNC/Manual machines, lathes, mills, and other heavy equipment.
* Determine and establish methods and working processes for the most specialized and complex jobs.
* Control the quality of all work done and effectively communicate with QA/QC Personnel.
* Formulate all working procedures used for optimizing the quality of work and efficiency. Consult with fellow employees, contractors, and consultants to resolve maintenance issues and develop ways to improve equipment utilization and efficiency.
* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
* Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery.
* Perform minor and major repair of projects received at the Repair Center to include all facets of large and small mining machinery.
* Maintain equipment to ensure the best reliability and performance.
* Completes required work and safety reports.
* Perform other tasks as directed.
Who you are:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Experience as a Machinist in the heavy equipment, manufacturing, or mining industry.
* Prior repair experience with mining process equipment would be ideal
* Ability to assess situations and problems, ability to detect technical discrepancies.
* Observes safety regulations and exhibits a high concern for safety.
* Must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair, and maintenance; knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
* Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, pi tapes, scales, etc. proficiently.
* Understand the mechanics of precision bearings, bushings, gearing as well as heating and cooling of components for disassembly and assembly of work.

Makes input to CNC consistent with set up procedure. Performs dry run to verify setup prior to production run. Recognizes and reports errors in programming and operations. Collaborates with Engineering Department in correcting errors.
Provides necessary counts, processes documentation correctly, and maintains daily production logs or production worksheets.

Key Responsibilities:

•Interpret assembly drawings, GD&D specifications and blueprints, design, fabricate, and set customer fixtures and tooling
•Perform precise inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs, or optical comparators, ensuring part compliance
•Collaborate with engineering to refine machining methods, offer feedback on manufacturability, update control data
•Adhere to ISO AS9100 standards, ITAR protocols, PPE use, and logout/tagout
