Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, layout tools, and various types of calibrators. Ability to shape metal parts to close tolerances and perform standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds of machines, fittings, and assembling parts into mechanical equipment. Secure the job site at the end of the shift to minimize the risk of loss or theft. Knowledge of how to properly handle and store all hazardous materials.
