The progressive dies are making complex micro-miniature piece parts at 1,000 strokes per minute or more. Requirements Key Responsibilities: 1. First Key Responsibility: a. Plan, layout and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter or repair progressive stamping dies. b. Work from drawings, written specifications, and verbal directions. c. Improvise tooling for unusual adaptations. d. Surface grind tool steel and carbide to .0001” e. Work patiently to achieve the precision demanded by the fine work f. Must be able to use precision measuring instruments to check for proper dimensions of the workpieces. g. Plan your project and workload, work with others as well as tool room foreman to schedule workflow through various departments (i.e. wire edm) 2. Second Key Responsibility: a. Assess problems and troubleshoot issues by reviewing the progression strip under a microscope b. Look for wear, misalignment, and sources of issues that affect tolerances or productivity. c.
