SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Perform a variety of basic machining operations utilizing shop equipment and tooling to support the manufacturing departments goals.
Read blueprints.
Perform Inspection functions, maintain records, enter data into computer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely use of established machining techniques and best practices to make parts to Engineering Specifications within the scheduled time allowed.
Plan and perform a variety of manual operations on machine shop equipment such as Saws, Drill Presses, Layout Machine, Hand Tools, Hand-Held Power Tools, etc.
Perform work to specified tolerances using technical knowledge and skills to ensure the accuracy and quality of all finished parts.
Interpret engineering drawings to establish a clear understanding of what work is required to successfully make the part.
Perform in-process checks to ensure the parts are conforming to the print.
Use a computer to extract information to clarify the work being accomplished.
Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment.
Complete required paperwork and labor reporting.
Work with other employees and supervisors to provide a flexible workforce.
Perform other related duties as required by management.

This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce high mix, low volume precision components that meet exact specifications and quality standards.
What you'll do:
Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce a variety of products and parts to specification
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
Make program edits and offsets as needed to ensure quality and efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
Adhere to all safety, quality, and company standards
What we need:
Applicants should have the following skills and abilities.
Minimum five (5) years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, and materials
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and GD&T
Experience with tight tolerances and high-precision parts
Knowledge of Feed & Speed
Experience machining stainless steel, alloy steels, and other specialty materials
Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
Familiarity with ISO-style quality systems
Demonstrate excellent safety practices & housekeeping
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Manual machining experience and/or grind experience a plus
Willingness to work a minimum of eight hours of overtime per week on an as-needed basis during busy times
