Our Auburn Pump and Motor Repair Shop is looking for a skilled Machinist to join the team. Primary Functions At the direction of the Shop Management the Machinist is to perform typical duties of a traditional manual machinist working with horizontal lathes, vertical milling machine, general machine shop equipment: band saws, Bridgeport drill presses, grinders, as well as some welding.
Machinist Essential Responsibilities
* Set up and operate conventional lathes, mills, balancing equipment, and commutator profiler.
* Ability to machine housings, shafts, keyways, and sleeves.
* Must be familiar with common industry tolerances and fits for motor repair.
* Fabricate products to meet established quality standards and the requirements of our customers.
* Establish and follow maintenance schedules for shop equipment.
* Provide technical expertise as needed.
* Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times.
* Organize and maintain personal and shop tools and equipment.
* Willing and able to work OT as required.
Machinist Necessary Qualifications
* 5 years mechanical assembly and disassembly experience preferred.
* Ability to read mechanical prints and schematics.
* Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
* Basic knowledge regarding use of a PC.
* Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter, shop tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists, etc.
* Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical theory required.
* Valid and clean NYS driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed.

* Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours.

**What You Will Do:**
+ Demonstrate proper work methods and procedures with use of tools and equipment
+ Run written CNC programs OR operate Kasto saws with minor supervision
+ Produce a number of uncomplicated parts that shows good faith in obtaining the desired production rate and quality
+ Perform walk around of machines
+ Support the cell's continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives, including wearing required personal protective equipment
+ The position will work a schedule of Monday - Thursday (4x10) 2:00pm - 12:00am (7th shift)
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ High School diploma or GED equivalent

**Onsite:** Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
