THE POSITION:
AGCEA has an excellent opportunity for a Machine Operator with our Mori Team. Incumbents in this position will perform machining operations to produce Silicon carbide components to customer specifications for the semiconductor industry. The ideal candidate will work from blueprints, process sheets, sketches, and engineering specifications can determine the assignment plan, layout, sequence of operations, number of cuts, and necessary tool adjustments required for Lathes and surface grinding machines.
This will require working knowledge of GD&T and a full understanding of CNC machining fundamentals including establishing work and tool offsets as well as aligning and securing fixtures and components to program requirements. The selected candidate will be a trusted teammate who exercises initiative and demonstrates AGCEA values.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate specialized lathes to manufacture Silicon Carbide products.
Performs routine setup of fixtures, tools, and manual or CNC machines.
Performs accurate installation of parts into fixtures or machining.
Cleans and finishes part process in preparation for the next operation.
Performs required quality checks on products using work instructions, blueprints, or other material.
Performs operations in the proper sequence.
Uses precision measuring equipment to check part specifications, fixturing setup to assure compliance with applicable quality requirements.
Performs minor maintenance activities on assigned machines.
Uses machine and shop math to calculate setups and assure adherence to quality standards.
Supports continuous improvement to achieve quality standard work, lower costs, improve yields and quality.
Uses checklists and documentation to verify part specifications, fixture setups, and compliance with quality procedures.
Works with manufacturing management or engineers in updating or developing machining instructions.
Wears required protective safety apparel while on the manufacturing floor.
Follows proper operational sequences to ensure manufacturing efficiency.
Perform quality related data entry and generate basic production reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience working on Lathes or related machinery in a production environment.
HS diploma or GED is required; College and/or vocational education preferred.
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints.
Working knowledge of GD&T.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to set up and operate lathes and/or surface grinding machinery.
Proficiency with MS Office products; ability to produce documents and perform data entry.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel or composite toe safety shoes, and designated PPE gloves as required.

About this Role
As a prototyping machinist your focus will be with programming short run and multi-axis parts using NX CAM. Our shop focuses on high-precision, sometimes tricky, low-volume prototype quantity parts. We work primarily in aluminum, plastics, and steel. The ability to quickly and effectively get parts programmed and running on the machines is essential to this job. Familiarity with 3 and 5-axis vertical mills is needed. Experience with manual mill and lathe will definitely help. Experience with a diverse and often urgent-paced team is beneficial. The Field Machinist is responsible for the set up and operation of a wide variety of portable machine tools to perform on-site machine work and repairs on location at client work sites.
Primary role is to execute field machining operations in accordance with the approved site and company procedures.
The technician is directly responsible for the execution of services in accordance with the requirements of the site and TEAM process and procedures.
The technician undertakes the training and development to continuously improve their skills and levels of competence and knowledge.
Trained and competent technicians will be required to lead technicians of a lesser on job sites.
Essential Job Functions

Job Qualifications

About this Role
As a prototyping machinist your focus will be with programming short run and multi-axis parts using NX CAM. Our shop focuses on high-precision, sometimes tricky, low-volume prototype quantity parts. We work primarily in aluminum, plastics, and steel. The ability to quickly and effectively get parts programmed and running on the machines is essential to this job. Familiarity with 3 and 5-axis vertical mills is needed. Experience with manual mill and lathe will definitely help. Experience with a diverse and often urgent-paced team is beneficial. A detail focused eye for making high-quality parts is a must. This position requires you be in our facility, with the machines and team.

Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls are a plus.

CNC 3 axis experience, 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus.
