Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces. Build fixtures for machining parts. Set and monitor the feed and speed of machines. Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications and maintain tolerances. Use gauges and measuring instruments to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements. Measure and examine completed parts for defects. Smooth the surfaces of parts or products to specifications. Present finished workpieces to customers and make modifications, if needed.
