Duties/Responsibilities:
Running production parts on Manual and CNC machining equipment
Collection and recording of SPC characteristics of manufactured parts on digital and manual measuring devices
Work with Supervision, Engineering and/or Mission Assurance personnel to improve safety, quality, and/or cost of manufacturing processes
Train other machinists and operators to safely, accurately and proficiently manufacture parts using manual and CNC equipment.
Serve as resource for Engineering, Supervision, Mission Assurance and other machinists as required
Mount tooling according to the tool sheet or the program
Indicate and align all tools
Touch off tools on X,Z, and Y axis
Produce first part and submit to inspection
Make changes based on inspection results in order to get first piece acceptance
Assure that all gages and necessary documentation are in the work area
Note all tool and insert changes
Basic knowledge of how to operate and navigate a computer.
Operate any process in accordance with the procedures and set up sheets
Support Research & Development efforts by collaborating with respective engineers
Pay:
$34.62 per hour is the pay rate for this role and not negotiable due to this role being within the union.(Working the off shift grants an additional $0.63 to hourly rate)
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma, or equivalent,
A minimum of (5) five years' experience in the operation of manual and/or CNC controlled machining equipment.
The ability to work all three shifts as required within a union environment.
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to read and take measurements using digital and manual inspection equipment

Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards and ensure 5S standards are maintained.
For this role we would need you to demonstrate:
Previous experience working with MAZAK CNC machinery (essential).

Purpose of the role
MHIRJ's network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Machinist will plan and fabricate parts and shop aids in accordance with engineering or customer specifications to be used in flight test aircraft.
Here are the daily responsibilities of a Machinist:
Verify quantity and material type are correct and all prior inspection points have been stamped
Verify engineering and shop documents have been obtained to perform the necessary work
Assist with planning machining procedures and set-up machine and part(s)
Set-up and/or verify cutting tools per machine requirements
Perform a variety of machining operations with Mills and Lathes including CNC equipment, for example, boring, drilling, milling, tapping, and threading on raw material to produce machined part(s) to tolerances and dimensions in accordance with engineering specifications
Monitor feeds, spindle speeds, and tool wear during machining process and make adjustments to equipment, tools, and/or part(s) as required.
Finish machined part(s) using various hand tools
Verify part is within specified tolerances and dimensions per engineering specifications and make further adjustments as required
Maintain existing documents, shop aid tools, and blueprints for applicable machines and equipment
Ability to deburr, cut, polish, blend, and smooth the surfaces of machined parts using a variety of hand tools, for example, grinders, deburring tools, drill, and files
Ability to build shop aid tools to enhance machining operation for applicable equipment
Working knowledge of properties of mild steel, stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum applicable to part fabrication
Thorough knowledge of proper methods in processing materials and machining parts and shop aids to prevent costly losses of material and machine delays in certification efforts
Here is what is required to succeed:
Minimum 2 years of diversified machine shop experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents
Ability to calculate dimensional information for machining/machined parts
Ability to operate and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments, for example, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
Ability to operate CNC machines, to include 3 or 5 axis milling and some CNC lathe
Working knowledge of shop and trigonometry mathematics
Knowledge of CAM Software (SolidWorks, Gibbs Cam) preferred
Basic knowledge of CAD/CATIA with a clear understanding of NC codes preferred.

Job Description
Technimark is seeking a 1st Shift Tool Maker for its Inwood, WV manufacturing facility.
Supports production by maintaining all molds in a production ready state.
Responsible for mentoring less experienced employees on the job, such as apprentices
Repairs, cleans, services and performs insert changes on all molds
Wire Hot runners, hot sprue, thermocouples in addition to replace hot runner components
Wire limit switches
Cleaning, lubrication, polishing mold components
Evaluate, maintain, and repair injection molds
Must complete job assignments in a timely manner
Ability to make small parts in a manual lathe, milling machine, surface grinder
Knowledge of core pull hydraulic cylinders being able to rebuild / replace
Must be able to read blueprints, part prints, interpret mechanical drawings and wiring schematics
Assist in maintaining the spare part inventories used for mold repair and maintenance
Complete special projects to schedule as assigned by the Tool Room Lead/Supervisor
Work safely and maintain molds and equipment to operate as designed
Close tool room work orders when completed
Participate in continuous education/training to improve tooling knowledge and skills
Maintain service records in compliance with FDA & ISO standards
Determine root cause when addressing major tool damage/failure. Report findings to the Tool Room Lead.
Perform mold preventative maintenance as scheduled to achieve 100% on-time completion
Respond to manufacturing demand appropriately. Request direction when priorities conflict
Support the business decisions of the Senior Management Team
Initiate and participate in continuous improvement plans

* Reads and interprets part prints and/or verbal/written instructions to plan machine set up, correct adjustments, and selection of tools.
* Correctly downloads programmed information to CNC machine. Skillfully operates milling machines to machine parts to prescribed specifications.
* Inspects and verifies conformance of parts at the beginning of an operation (test 1st part) and the end of machining process to specifications/tolerances using a variety of precision measuring and gaging instruments.
* Insure all machines set ups and shutdowns are in line with prescribed safety procedures. This includes all necessary Lockout/Tagout procedures when needed.
* Strictly follows all job safety requirements/procedures which include machine guarding, forklift truck and hoist operation and housekeeping requirements.
* Addresses and resolve problems arising from programs or instructions.
* Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management which includes cross-functional job duties including the Lathe, Mills, and Router table.
* Fills in/operates any CNC machine when necessary.
* Take on a support role in the Quality Checkout Process and adhere to all Shuttleworth Quality and Assembly standards.
* Be proactive in monitoring project success factors (schedule, budget, quality) and make suggestions to the Fabrication Foreman/Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager to assure they are maintained or surpassed on the assigned projects.
* Lead, train and mentor other employees and contractors in their training.
* Train and assist in other departments as production needs require - Roller shaft assembly, Pre-assembly, Fabrication, Plastic Molding, Electrical, and Shipping/Crating departments.
* Other tasks as directed by Fabrication Supervisor, or Manufacturing Manager.
* 5-10% travel as needed for training and trade shows.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate various machine tools, including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes, as well as manual lathes and mills, using blueprints, sketches or shop drawings for each operation to create rough or finished parts to exacting tolerances.
Plan operational sequences, determine method of holding work, and select tooling required to machine parts in conformance with exact tolerances as dictated by drawings, sketches, or other authorizing documents.
Maintain high quality and productivity levels through application of the most effective machining techniques in compliance with the procedures for each operation.
Ability to write simple programs for short run parts using sketches, blueprints or shop drawings, or with supervisory approval, edit existing programs to expedite jobs and improve work quality.
Calculate and layout reference points, angles, and other dimensions from sketches, blueprints, or shop drawings using shop mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry.
Verify conformance of machined parts to reference documentation through the accurate use of precision measuring instruments and standardized measuring techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Pay Information:
This is a union position with a starting pay rate of $17.41, after one year you will increase to $19.56, after two years you will increase to $21.71, after three years you will increase to the top rate, that is currently $36.62(this will increase each year per the contract). These rates are non-negotiable.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.
2 years of experience operating manual and/or CNC metal machining equipment and/or the successful completion of an approved machinist training program.
The ability to work all three shifts.
The ability to work overtime as required.
