Job DescriptionSalary: We are seeking candidates with some electronics and/or mechanical ability to join our new SMT Operator Apprenticeship Program. Selected candidates will have an opportunity to learn the Printed Circuit Board Assembly processes and procedures required to meet our customer contracts. Candidates must be local to the Melbourne, FL area and able to work Monday Friday: 1st shift 7:00am 3:30pm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set-up, operate and maintain screen printers, glue machine, reflow ovens, SMT placement machines, stencil cleaners, conveyors, and other equipment used in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards. Interface with complex machine hardware and software. Identify and report defective components. Inspect own work to ensure accuracy and integrity of work performed. Ensure product meets established workmanship standards. Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain data logs. Responsible for the cleanliness of work area and surrounding work space. Responsible for the accuracy of work-in-process. Participate in quality teams as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic Computer Skills. Knowledge of Shop Floor System. Strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Must be a team player with the ability to work with all levels of employees in a diverse environment. In addition, this position is responsible for ESD integrity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage onsite calibration program for a variety of electronic equipment to ensure measurement accuracy, precision and quality control across a wide spectrum of instruments. Ensure readings are consistent with other measurements Determine accuracy of readings Establish reliability of the instrument/equipment Calibrate to industry standards Run tests and interpret results to make effective recommendations to fix faulty or broken equipment. May source replacement parts and negotiate costs with suppliers and customers. Maintain ESD integrity within production environment. Support quality and production for data analysis reporting and product support. Prepare routine performance and measurement presentation. Skills and Abilities * US Citizenship Required * Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance * Knowledge/skills must include strong education, theoretical background and experience with applied hands-on implementation expertise in electronic design, simulation, modeling, analysis, and test. * Hands-on experience with development, building and testing of electronic assemblies and systems. * Knowledge of digital and analog design including amplifiers, analog and digital interfacing, time and frequency domain filtering, sampling theorem, aliasing, programmable logic, low power design. * Experience with the implementation of peripheral devices. * Experience with power supply design * Experience with simulation (LTSpice or equivalent) and computational programs (MATLAB preferred) * Experience with audio including power linearity and equalization * Experience implementing microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSPs), and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) * Experienced implementing communication protocols (I2C, SPI, Ethernet, UART, etc.) * Familiarity with Design Validation and Test processes, including board level testing and bring up. * Thorough understanding of DFX methodologies, guidelines and rules. * Pluses include experience with microcontrollers, low power design, battery operation, and switching regulators, digital signal processing, magnetics and RF design * Ability to draw solutions from both formal training and experience and use original thinking and ingenuity to solve problems. * Experience in generating Electrical design documentation, and technical reports. * Ability to write proposals, cost and schedule estimates (including budgets), and participate in presentations. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams. * Must show high initiative, be self-motivated, and have ability to act independently on technical matters. * Must be willing and able to travel and participate in product field tests Travel and Physical Requirements * Minimum travel required * The physical demands describe here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
