One of Macola’s first pressings was 1983’s “Dial-A-Freak,” from mobile DJ crew Uncle Jamm’s Army, who performed hugely-popular electro rap concerts all over Southern California.
His Macola sub-label Kru-Cut released the first album from his group World Class Wreckin’ Cru – 1985’s World Class – which featured him, Cli-N-Tel and future N.W.A members Doctor Dre and DJ Yella.
Meanwhile, Macola had its first major smash with Timex Social Club’s 1986 hit “Rumors.”
