The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing maintenance support to the Okonite Cable and Compound Manufacturing Plants. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who has a thorough understanding of industrial mechanical concepts. This understanding must translate into minimizing downtime required to repair plant equipment while recommending/implementing needed changes for the future state. This individual must be capable of rebuilding/repairing machinery as well as installing new equipment to specifications. This position is critical to the maintenance department to provide timely and safe repairs on equipment. The ideal candidate must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift after full training on 1st shift and be willing to work on projects and needs that require overtime. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubleshoot/Repair manufacturing machinery Knowledgeable of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Input/Retrieve data/reports from our Computerized Maintenance Management System Support capital projects/expansions where needed 6S - with an emphasis on safe work May be called upon to fill in for supervision May be called upon to work weekends or shifts This job is primarily a shift position (2nd or 3rd) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Diagnose malfunctioning equipment and make necessary repairs to correct the problem Welding/machining to make repairs and perform light fabrication Pipefitting/plumbing Rigging Motor/pump alignment using dial gauges as well as lasers Ability to read mechanical prints Knowledgeable of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install/maintain equipment Advise management on whether the continued operation of the equipment could be hazardous Dependable with good verbal and written communication skills EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience (preferred). Within our 300-person manufacturing facility in Tracy, Leprino is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to guide frontline maintenance teams, improve equipment uptime, and support larger levels of cheese and dairy ingredient growth. Working knowledge of industrial maintenance systems, including mechanical and electrical equipment. Ability to use basic computer systems and learn SAP or similar maintenance platforms. This position will be located at the Aiken, SC branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Branch Manager. * Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service; and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Operates and inspects cranes in order to diagnose defects Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS & MEGA-TRACK system Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges Reads, understands and interprets operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications May be required to weld as needed Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations Properly fills out working reports, hour's reports, time sheets, hour's overviews and expense reports Good customer service and communication skills JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician. History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/ or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks; Manitex Boom Trucks and Cranes a strong plus Sets a positive example in punctuality and professional demeanor by respectful communication with all levels of staff, keeping work areas clean & orderly plus promoting safety regulations and all other company programs. Welding experience preferred. Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record preferred. Basic computer skills preferred. Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches. Manufacture approved training/certifications preferred Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required. Provide various support to the overall facility maintenance including support for the production lines, installation, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move & maintain a wide variety of production & related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings and systems. Second Shift: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Duties include the application of one or more craft skills, (i.e. mechanical, electrical, welding, pipe fitting & machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move & maintain a wide variety of production & related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings and systems. * Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, furnaces, exhaust systems, chillers, boilers, extruders, chemical tanks, production machinery and instrumentation equipment. * Installs new machinery and equipment and moves machinery and equipment to affect layout changes as required. * Work may include operations, such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and making necessary hook-ups, placing equipment in proper operating condition. * Performs preventative maintenance activities of all types, including the most critical types requiring extensive dismantling, re-assemble, and critical adjustment, lubrication, and/or calibration. Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Strong demonstrable knowledge of electronics, electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, machining, and mechanical theory * Previous experience supporting an industrial fluid application facility preferable * Strong oral and written communication, excellent computer skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work requirements, and attention to detail are essential. * While performing the duties of this job, the associate, is required to stand for extended periods of time without sitting as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting or crawling. * Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds * Must provide hand tools and tool box. * Must have valid Forklift Operator's license or pass required training Education and/or Experience * Minimum of High School Diploma or GED * Preferred - Certification in electronics, electrical, HVAC, machining, and/or mechanical theory * 3-5 years' experience in general production maintenance including craft skills (i.e., mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, and machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move, and maintain a wide variety of production and related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings, and systems at journeyman level.
