Job Overview
The Floor Ready Colleague is responsible for checking all receipts entering the building for vendor noncompliance. Perform other duties as needed.
Essential Functions
Provide an exceptional customer shopping experience by ensuring both the in store and online customer are always the #1 priority
Service the customer in a helpful and friendly manner including POS transactions, loyalty enrollment, and helping them to find what they are looking for
Collaborate with Managers, Leads and Colleagues throughout the store to deliver a clean, neat and easy-to-shop store environment; maintain sales floor and fitting room recovery standards
Support Omni Channel initiatives and be open to learning new technology
Maintain a working knowledge of the Floor Ready Best Practice
Review vendor boxes for non-compliance issues; submit charges accordingly using the MC9090 RF Handheld
Perform floor audits on merchandise that was not opened or may have been missed on the receiving dock
Take photos and communicate any issues outside the scope of the designated audits via phone, email to the Store Operations Analyst and review on weekly team conference calls.
Understand receiving and processing team functions to better communicate vendor issues that need to be addressed; partner with the processing team to resolve audit findings
Communicate with OVM or CSX on any merchandise or system issues
Adhere to Asset Protection and inventory control and compliance procedures
Ensure that shortage prevention initiatives are executed
Dependable attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities
TEAM MEMBER GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Team Member acts as a point of contact for our customers. The duties of the Team Member include stocking and merchandising displays, recovering merchandise, display product knowledge, cleaning the store, operating the cash register(s), and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

* Operate cash register(s) and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary.
* Assist customers in self-checkout process at multiple register terminals simultaneously.
* Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
* Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
* Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
* Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
* Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

Job Overview
The Store Management Internship Program is available in major markets nationwide and provides exposure to all facets of leading a store, including customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, store operations, colleague development, human resources, and asset protection. This 8-week paid internship takes place on-site in stores in Summer 2026.
The program introduces interns to the complex and dynamic inner workings of a multi-million-dollar retail department store. As part of a store leadership team, interns learn the challenges of the business and collaborate on solutions while gaining firsthand experience with the strategies and partnerships that drive success in this fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to gain insights into leadership best practices and receive ongoing constructive feedback.
Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute merchandising initiatives that drive business performance.
Engage with leaders across store and regional business functions to broaden your perspective.
Learn to create a customer-focused selling environment by coaching and developing colleagues.
Support daily store operations by training and coaching colleagues to ensure smooth execution.
Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that better meets customer needs.
Explore the analytical side of the business to understand and apply retail strategies.
Contribute to a performance-driven team that values collaboration and continuous skill development.
Take advantage of daily opportunities to innovate, test, and implement new ideas.
Demonstrate learning through a project and presentation, consulting with store leadership to propose business growth strategies.
Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Who You Are
Rising seniors enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with one year remaining, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to apply. All majors considered.
This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.

GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and will be expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations, if performance of these tasks will help achieve our Customer service and operational goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
* Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. Maintains clutter free, clear egress to emergency exits. Immediately corrects or reports any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
* Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
* Assists Customers in any way necessary - is register-trained, assists Customers with merchandise, and answers Customer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets all Customers by making eye contact, smiling and saying "hello" throughout the Store as well as saying "thank you" with every register transaction.
* Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers at all times. Responds to Customer Service calls immediately. Handles all Customer issues in a courteous and helpful way, calling a member of the Store Leadership when needed.
* Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
* Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas including the front-end, sales floor and restrooms to help maintain merchandise, customer and Team areas.
* Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code at all times.
* Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, and replenishing restroom supplies to help maintain merchandise, customer and Team areas.
* Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice to ensure a neat, clean and organized store that is well-maintained and efficiently merchandised to standards.
* Expedites newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor with a sense of urgency, merchandising all items per company best practice to the monthly presentation guidelines and maintaining merchandise/brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
* Understands the Loss Prevention Awareness program, the Shortage Highway, the Store Protection Specialist (SPS) position (where applicable), and merchandise protection standards.
* As a representative of Ross Inc., demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with Associates and Customers. Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
* Follows all Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, including the identification of MOS merchandise, proper processing of each piece and the notification of Store Leadership to review and approve all disposals.
* Follows all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card and refund transactions, voids and offline procedures. Maintains a high level of awareness and accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
* Demonstrates a sense of urgency to efficiently perform their role. Maximizes productivity by executing all Store best practices and minimizing steps and touches in their work flow.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
* Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
* Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
* Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
* Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
* Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
* Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
* Associates who work Stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
