In 1951 the Madison Memorial Hospital was opened.
After the Marion Street hospital was built in 1954, the Yankee Hunting Lodge was sold and the building was moved to a location on Hancock Street and then moved again to 305 NE Livingston Street, where it stands today as a private residence.
On June 5, 1976, Rexburg’s main street once again was filled with mudholes and sufficient water to drown a horse when the Teton Dam broke sending a deluge of floodgates down on the surrounding lowlands including Rexburg.
Four Freedoms Health Services was established in 1993 with Doctor John Hsu serving as the first medical director.
Citizens of the county voted in November 2006 to implement a ½ cent sales tax to partially finance the construction of a new hospital.
