2009

January 2009: Dae Mellencamp joins IAC as general manager of Vimeo.

2010

October 2010: Vimeo hosts its first annual Vimeo Awards in New York City, which is dedicated to showcasing and awarding creative video content hosted on the site.

In 2010, the company received more than $5.5 million in Series A round and B venture round funding from Magma Venture Partners and Horizons Ventures.

2011

September 2011: The company unveils the “Vimeo Music Store” — a custom-designed music licensing solution that allowed users to search for, discover and license songs for both non-commercial and limited commercial use.

In September 2011, at the same time as the public launch of their web application, Magisto announced a $5.5 million Series B funding round led by Li Ka-shing’s Horizons Ventures.

2012

She serves as CEO until March 2012.

August 2012: Dropbox teams up with the company so users can seamlessly upload content from their Dropbox to Vimeo.

On August 28, 2012, Magisto launched the Android app on Google Play.

At CES, the company was also declared winner of the 2012 CES Mobile App Showdown.

2013

February 2013: At the Toronto International Film Festival, the company announced it was offering $10,000 for exclusive rights to indie films.

On March 7, 2013, Magisto claimed 5 million users.

2014

In September 2014 Magisto rolled out a new feature called, ‘Instagram Ready’ which allows users to upload 15 second clips that are automatically formatted for Instagram.

In October 2014, Magisto was placed 9th on the 2014 Deloitte Israel Technology Fast 50 list, as one of the fastest-growing technology companies, and was named as a finalist in the Red Herring's Top 100 Europe award.

2015

April 2015: HBO brings Vimeo’s first original web series to TV. The premium channel picked up the third season of High Maintenance, Vimeo's first original On Demand series.

June 2015: The company launches a monthly subscription service that gives creators an outlet to receive recurring payments from their viewers.

In July 2015, Magisto released an editing theme dedicated to musician Jerry Garcia, endorsed by his daughter Trixie.

2016

January 2016: The company appeals to women that are traditionally underrepresented in the film industry and launches the “Share The Screen” initiative at the Sundance Film Festival.

April 2016: Vimeo acquires VHX in a move to boost its video-on-demand business.

2018

If the video was uploaded before January 2, 2018, you will not see anything.

2019

In April 2019, the company was acquired by Vimeo, the IAC-owned platform for hosting, sharing and monetizing streamed video, for an estimated US$200 million.
