Mission of the Position:
The Customs Analyst will have responsibility for various Customs compliance tasks to support Magna Powertrain (MPT) and Magna Electronics (ME) facilities supported by the MPT Customs Team. This position will be the Subject Matter Expert on Brokerage/Operations and will work closely with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and MPT/ME divisions to obtain information required by MPT's/ME's Customs Brokers to ensure compliant and timely import entries are filed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection as part of the Broker Referral process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible as the process owner and management of the Broker Referral process, to obtain and provide critical information to MPT's/ME's customs brokers to ensure highest levels of import entry compliance are met
* Maximize duty savings opportunities via application of Free Trade Agreements (e.g., USMCA, KORUS), Special Trade Programs, and HTSUS 9801/9802, including solicitation and qualification as needed
* Support Magna cross functional teams and divisions with Duty Impact Analysis to assist with sourcing decisions and landed cost calculations
* Measure customs broker compliance with Magna's Broker Business Rules
* Provide operational support to MPT/ME divisions such as but not limited to hand carry shipments, shipment issues/delays, and reporting of shipment status/updates
* Manage Temporary Import Bond shipment process to determine proper applicability and tracking, requesting extensions as needed
* Provide reporting and analytical support for other Compliance Team initiatives via ACE Reports and/or Ad Hoc Reports from MPT/ME customs brokers
* Provide operational support to MPT/ME divisions as part of their Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) initiative
* Responsible for determining HTS classification for Non-Production parts/commodities
* Responsible to support implementation of automation and systems to streamline trade compliance processes and ensure timely adherence to international trade laws and documentation requirements.
* Provide decision support on day-to-day basis compliance matters

Requirements and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or an Operations Management related field strongly preferred.
* 2 to 5 years of related work experience required.
* U.S. & Canadian regulatory import, export, and re-export trade compliance experience.
* Complete understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Regulations, including knowledge of Customs Valuation and Classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. and Canada
* Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, Special Trade Programs, HTSUS 9801/9802 and documentary requirements
* Understand country of origin and marking issues, recordkeeping requirements, and supply chain security regulations as they relate to imports.

Support trim studio and trim engineering activities with sewing of trim covers, cover assemblies and the verification of the released product through the process of trim development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Produce sew samples for manufacturing, testing, pre-production and validation samples.
* Provide guidance to and trains sewing personnel in all the applicable trim process disciplines.
* Assist with the development and evaluation of the prototype and production seating components.
* Assist trim studio management and engineering activities by providing guidance on the appropriate sewing sequences in a production setting by simulating the production sewing sequences.

Mission of the Position:
The student will work with the Mechatronics Systems Engineering group to support vehicle calibration, testing, and data analysis activities, while also contributing to system-level development. This team focuses on defining and optimizing control strategies to ensure vehicle performance meets desired outcomes on current and future production programs.
Team Summary:
The Mechatronics Systems Engineering group is responsible for vehicle-level system verification, calibration, and testing to support new product launches, current product enhancements, and future driveline innovations. In addition, the team defines and develops the mechatronic system-covering control algorithms and electrical architecture-for innovative and leading-edge driveline applications. They work closely with customer and internal requirements, as well as hardware component technologies, to deliver robust design solutions and maintain best practices for mechatronic system development and software control logic. The team also contributes to the development of test methods, procedures, and custom equipment for both vehicle and system-level validation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in vehicle and system-level testing using standardized methods and practices, including data acquisition and analysis.
* Support the development, documentation, and verification of mechatronic system control software strategies through simulation, calibration, vehicle evaluation, and peer reviews.
* Collect and analyze data from vehicles, test bench, dyno, and manufacturing environments; assist in root cause investigations and issue resolution.
* Collaborate with the vehicle applications team to define and refine software control logic and calibration strategies.
* Adhere to established quality management systems and follow all relevant policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
* Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure safe execution of tasks for self and others.
* Contributes to the development of test methods, procedures, and custom equipment for validation activities.

* Expected Learning Outcomes:

Requirements and Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Controls and Automation Engineer designs, develops, and implements control systems for automated manufacturing processes. The responsibility includes programming PLCs, robotics, ensuring safety, troubleshooting issues and optimizing productions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Function as a development specialist and Subject Matter Expert with expertise in PLC control systems design, robotics, and other control hardware and software, and related technologies.
* Identify and lead new development projects focusing on new technology concepts, cost savings, global activities and obtaining new business.
* Create & execute goals, timing and cost for project(s).
* Track & evaluate emerging technologies. Monitor and benchmark competitors.

* Consult with cross functional groups in various engineering activities relative to the design, prototype, and experimental construction of product components.

* Troubleshooting complex situations involving multiple variables and conditions with minimum supervision

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
* Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or a related field.
* Over 7 years of experience in assembly equipment, secondary equipment controls, and automation.
* Proficiency in PLC and robotics programming, along with related hardware component knowledge
* Programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Java, SCL, or SQL) are a significant plus.
* Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
* The ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the assembly process is essential.
* Knowledge of assembly solutions, machines, systems, and operations (such as AI vision inspection, AGV/AMRs, Poka Yoke, welding, milling, bonding, punching, etc.) is a strong asset.
* Ability to work within cross-functional and cross-regional teams and manage multiple priorities.
