Pros of working at MaidPro

The only pro working at maidpro would be the girls I met while working. Most of who quit or were fired for putting their children first.

Cons of working at MaidPro

The owner of the maidpro of Lake Norman was a horrible to everyone who worked for him. He still has not given me my last check. I dropped off my supplies and keys and was not told or aware I needed to bring back my used t-shirt. Now he's refusing to allow me to pick up my check when I drop off my t-shirt. I was suppose to be paid yesterday and they refused. They said they'll mail it when they get my tshirt. They're now asking me to put the t-shirt in a bag and put in front of the door at the office and then they will mail my check. This location is not close to me at all. I already have been up there to drop what they asked for the 1st time. They seem to want some kind of reaction from me. He's screamed at other women in their faces and I am not a confrontational person. As a woman I do not get into any kind of fights with a man. My husband didn't fight me or scream at me I refuse to be screamed at by someone else's husband.

MaidPro benefits

There were no perks or benefits. The owner threaten everyone's job and pay checks if we had emergencies. I was lied to about everything. Even when I applied to the Job I was lied to. I applied cause it said up to 21 dollars an hour based on experience. I have about 20 years of professional cleaning experience. Once I was hired I was told everyone starts at 16 and has to work their way up. Even from the start it was a lie. I have the messages still from them. I even asked why am I being lied to because I asked for my last check. I didn't quit nor did they fire me. He just stopped putting me on the schedule. My daughter had an extremely bad allergic reaction and had to be rushed to the hospital. That was last Friday night. I told them I cant make the last clean. I text in the morning explaining what happened. I worked Saturday. They never said anything. Come Monday I wasn't on the schedule. Tuesday same thing. Wednesday at 1am the owner texts my phone we need to talk about the next steps. I responded in the morning during normal business hours and stated I'll return my supplies and keys. He had already done this same thing to a few other ladies who worked for him. It ended with him yelling and screaming and the young ladies leaving the office crying. I did not want to be screamed at by a man who's not my husband. My husband passed away a few months ago that's why I started working for maidpro to begin with. When any of my children have an emergency I do not have anyone else to help them. Their father has passed away. If I was going to be fired anyway over 1 clean Friday afternoon they should have said something to me Friday and I would have returned everything Saturday morning. He did not want to lose the money on the 2 office cleans I do Saturdays so he kept me on so he made his money. He didn't have anyone else to cover Saturday morning. He then proceeded to tell me yesterday he couldn't take me off the schedule cause it was a weekend. It happened about 1pm on Friday. And if they can change my schedule while I'm working I'm sure they can change my schedule Friday afternoon and Saturday. We can't see our schedule for Monday until 3am Monday. Which is a lot like Sunday night still which would be a weekend. Not exactly considered week day hours. I have contacted the department of labor. I was told they can not hold my check even if I have a t-shirt. The most they are legally allowed to do in the state of North Carolina is deduct the cost of the t-shirt from m

What do you like best about MaidPro's CEO and the leadership team?

Not sure who the ceo is of this location. The owner needs to be taught about the labor laws of North Carolina. There is no leadership cause he can not keep employees. The 1st day I started I knew I should have left. The girls who were training me didn't have 1 good thing to say about the owner Chris. The lead also quit a few days later cause the owner Chris was in her face screaming. I do not know what the fight was about but that let me know to not allow him to talk to me in person cause I will not tolerate being screamed at by a man as a woman it's just not right.

How would you improve MaidPro's culture?

I would hire someone else to run the business cause the owner who's running the business is terrible to his employees. I'm not sure if he has kids but he has threatened every single mother that they will lose their job if they don't do whatever he's wants them to do at the time. I would have this owner take classes on how to speak to people and have respect for others. He can have us sign whatever crazy contract he likes but if half of it is against state guidelines I don't think they're valid anymore. I believe you still can't break the laws just cause it's an employee contract. They still have to be within state and federal guidelines.

How did you prepare for the MaidPro interview?

I prepared by making sure i told them about my experience and knowledge of everything I knew about the position I applied for.

How does your compensation at MaidPro compare to the industry average?

It never seems to add up. I would be gone from 8am to 5pm and still only come home with 400 a week. I worked Saturday as well and would make 450. 6 days a week putting in 40 plus hours every week and only being paid for about 25 hours. It doesn't add up and I still had to keep another job working for them.

What's the diversity at MaidPro like?

Everyone is white. Only 1 person of color which is me worked for them. But they're black so I'm not sure if that's considered diverse or not.

What brings you the most joy at MaidPro?

Knowing I'm making a good honest living helping people clean up their homes. I believe when your home is dirty and messy it's a sign of what's going on mentally with the person. Sometimes we all need a hand or some help to get us motivated to keep our homes at there best. It's a wonderful feeling when people are happy with the job you've done for them. They have a clean kitchen to start cooking in again and it makes a big difference in people's lives.
