Job Summary
Responsible for handling duties in a post office, including receiving and sorting mail, selling postage, weighing packages, stamping envelopes, assisting customers, selling money orders, taking passport photos, and ensure mail has correct zip codes and addresses.Primary responsibilities
Answer questions about office hours and when items are picked up to be mailed.
Sell postage and books of stamps.
Affix stamps to packages.
Inform customer about postage rates.
Open post office boxes.
Retrieve parcels from the back that couldn't be dropped off and give to customer.
Assist mail carriers by putting mail in bags for transport.
Sort outgoing mail.
Check packages for proper postage and addresses.
Complete forms regarding changes of address, or theft or loss of mail, or for special services such as registered or priority mail.

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Maintain day-to-day operation of the NYBO Mail Room and provide mail services throughout the NYBO offices to include picking up, receiving, sorting, and delivering mail.
The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $21.37. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Mail Handling & Distribution: Sort and distribute incoming/outgoing U.S. mail, overnight packages, interoffice correspondence, and product samples across multiple floors and departments.
* Shipping & Courier Coordination: Prepare shipments, operate postage machines, determine cost-effective shipping methods, and coordinate with courier services (FedEx, UPS, etc.) for deliveries and issue resolution.
* Sample Management: Organize and distribute product samples; remove and stage samples designated for charity or disposal.
* Mailroom Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mailroom, monitor equipment, record postage meter readings, and initiate service calls as needed.
* Reporting: Provide daily updates to the mailroom dashboard and track charity bin usage and movement.
* Facilities Support: Assist with tasks as directed, including conference room setups, supply deliveries, and other building-related needs.
* Inventory Audit: Conduct monthly inventory audit to ensure all mailroom and facility supplies are maintained at par levels.
* Space Audit: Conduct monthly audit of assigned floors to verify proper seat assignments and ensure name labels at cubicles and offices are accurate and up to date.
* Copy Room Space Audit: Conduct monthly audit to ensure assigned copy rooms are clean, well-organized, and meet company standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Mail Center Manager.

Responsibilities
The Mail Clerk is a permanent, full-time position supporting the overall mission of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) by facilitating the operations of a local Field Office. As a Mail Clerk, your responsibilities would include:
Routing messages, documents, packages, and mail to various business concerns or governmental agencies,
Sorting or opening incoming and outgoing mail,
Metering outgoing mail,
Obtaining receipts for articles delivered and keeping a log of items received and delivered,
Updating mail logs and government systems,
Scanning large multi-page documents,
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust/Suitability Clearance under the Department of Homeland Security from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
Ability to read and understand proficiently in English
Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. or more in a physical environment
Ability to perform tasks while bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching

The Mailroom Associate provides exceptional mail and shipping/receiving services, delivering operational functions in the following areas:
processing of inbound/outbound mail, distributing/delivering of mail, shipping and receiving product and supplies to support onsite business service center in a timely manner.
Overall, this position continuously offers the highest level of service to all client and SPS employees while maintaining a professional image of the company by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service.
Typical Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 9:00AM-6:00PM
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver 5-star customer service in all interactions.
Receive, sort, log, and distribute incoming mail and packages; manage outgoing shipments.
Maintain accurate shipping/receiving records and chain-of-custody documentation.
Serve as point of contact for mail/package inquiries and notify employees of deliveries.
Keep the Business Service Center neat, organized, and well-stocked; replenish office supplies as needed.
Follow shipping/receiving procedures and ensure correct packing methods and materials.
Maintain professionalism and build strong working relationships across teams.
Support training of back-up staff and assist with sensitive inquiries.
Proactively identify additional tasks during downtime.
Provide exceptional service to both client and employees.
Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service and organizational abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems.
Ability to multitask and work independently.
Understanding of shipping/receiving procedures and packing requirements.
