GENERAL PURPOSE:
Maintain day-to-day operation of the NYBO Mail Room and provide mail services throughout the NYBO offices to include picking up, receiving, sorting, and delivering mail.
The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $21.37. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Mail Handling & Distribution: Sort and distribute incoming/outgoing U.S. mail, overnight packages, interoffice correspondence, and product samples across multiple floors and departments.
* Shipping & Courier Coordination: Prepare shipments, operate postage machines, determine cost-effective shipping methods, and coordinate with courier services (FedEx, UPS, etc.) for deliveries and issue resolution.
* Sample Management: Organize and distribute product samples; remove and stage samples designated for charity or disposal.
* Mailroom Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mailroom, monitor equipment, record postage meter readings, and initiate service calls as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver 5-star customer service in all interactions.
Receive, sort, log, and distribute incoming mail and packages; manage outgoing shipments.

Serve as point of contact for mail/package inquiries and notify employees of deliveries.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and move packages up to 60 lbs. using a cart; frequently lift 40+ lbs.

The Position
Friedman Vartolo LLP is seeking a mail room clerk for our Garden City office. We're looking for hardworking, dedicated people to work in a busy office supporting the mail room. Candidates should be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and able to work independently and within a team. In this role you will complete physical and virtual mailing requests, complete drop-offs at post office, sign and or obtain notaries for Affirmation/Affidavits, and aid with various office services responsibilities as needed.
