Salary: $59,800 plus vehicle and fuel allowance. Target incentives up to an additional $200 per week as you achieve deliverable milestones!
We are experiencing explosive growth and looking to build an even more robust pipeline of future business leaders. Our Construction Superintendent Trainee (CST) program is designed introduce you to the drilling and blasting industry the MD&B way. Our CSTs join an internal Leadership Development Program aimed at building and developing a broad range of skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to move into career paths toward future manager, supervisory, and leadership positions in support of the Company's growth.
You will learn:
Safety and compliance as they relate to drilling and blasting operations;
All aspects of drilling in both construction and quarry environments;
You will build the skills and experience required to become a State licensed Blaster;
Procurement and logistics related to drilling and blasting activities (materials, supplies, equipment);
How QC efforts support project profitability;
Project budgets and standards;
Project supervision and leadership.

Our geographic footprint is large (and growing), the pace of your professional growth will be directly related to your willingness to follow opportunities wherever they are presented. This means travel within a multi-state area (don't worry, your meals and hotels are covered);
You will be learning our trade from the ground up, which means laboring, drilling, and blasting. It's a manual process, and we need you to be excited about all the steps;
We work outside on varied terrain. All the time. And in all the weather. We're not always happy about it, but drilling and blasting are rarely done inside (ok, never inside), and we get it done safely and on time. Did we mention, in all the weather?
The CST program builds future leaders, and part of the process is an established roadmap for you. We call this a Development Plan, and you will be highly engaged in the success of this Plan. In fact, you own it. We will assign you a dedicated mentor to support you at all times, but the motivation to succeed is all you.
About You
This is an entry level leadership development position, and as such you are most likely a recent College grad with a degree in Construction, Engineering, Mining, or similar. You may also be recently separated from Military service and looking for an opportunity that will value your self-discipline and standards for safety and excellence. But honestly, this is not the only blueprint for success at MD&B. Students will work alongside our estimating, preconstruction, project management, field, and safety teams to gain hands-on experience in every phase of the construction process. Job Responsibilities
Study blueprints, sketches, specifications, submittals and shop drawings for information on type of material required, such as lumber, concrete, rebar or wallboard, etc. Learn the dimensions of structures or items fabricated and the type of finish required.

What You'll Do:
Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Comply with all Federal (MSHA, ATF, etc.) and State regulations and protocols regarding drilling, blasting, and general safety regulations.
Plan Shots. Plan and design shots to optimize the production process while maintaining company standards for air overpressure, ground vibration, and compliance with any applicable regulatory requirements. Ensure that Vulcan blasting standards are followed and the shot is loaded according to the planned design.
Adjust Patterns. Adjust standard patterns for optimization by addressing burden, spacing, angles, diameters, depths, etc. in a safe and appropriate design.
Measure Accuracy. Measure and audit the accuracy of drilling operations and drill logs.
Collaborate. Direct the work of vendor bulk truck drivers and Vulcan shot helpers during the shot loading process. Work with plant management and blasting vendor to ensure delivery of the correct and necessary amount of blasting agents according to shot design. Foster neighbor and community relations and respond to inquiries from such groups.
Utilize Various Tools. Read and understand mine maps in order to guide facility management with mine and pit planning. Use GPS instrumentation to calculate scale distances. Read, analyze, and interpret seismographic results and make any necessary shot design adjustments accordingly. Operate signature analysis computer software. Use instruments such as laser profiler, bore track, and stemalign.
Perform Administrative Duties. Perform administrative duties related to the blasting program, such as completing computer generated shot reports, managing pre-charging survey and post-blast surveys, reviewing and analyzing all shots on video, and completing shot layout diagrams.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You'll Need:
Certifications. Must have the ability to become licensed or certified by any applicable Federal or State regulatory entity. Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain necessary state blasting license. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain ATF employee possessor status.
Experience. Must have a minimum of three years experience in aggregate surface mining.
Functional and Safety Knowledge. Must have acceptable performance, maintenance, and safety history. Must have knowledge of mine drilling and blasting standards, production techniques, and equipment. Must have knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (MSHA, ATF, OSHA).
Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
Technology Skills. Must have strong computer skills and the ability to use trade-related software and technical instruments.
Interpersonal Skills. Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Program Structure:
Participants will apply classroom lessons in a real-world setting. Summer interns will learn about Linde Inc.'s Linde Gases US business, products, processes, and functions. The participant will be given a work assignment in our operations group. Interns will also be partnered with a mentor. The scope of the internship program will allow participants to provide value to the organization by completing a well-defined, key project by the end of their internship.
Summer Internship Project Overview:
The intern will contribute to the development of custom applications tailored to support Linde's Americas business operations. Depending on business needs, projects may involve creating applications on a cloud-based or on-premise infrastructure. With multiple application development initiatives expected to be active during the internship, the intern will have the opportunity to work on impactful solutions, honing their technical skills in application design, development, and deployment while gaining exposure to real-world business challenges.
The position will be based in Tonawanda, NY.
Qualifications:
To be considered for an internship with Linde Inc. you must meet the following:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Must be actively working towards a Bachelor's in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Prefer a rising Junior or Senior.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Ability to demonstrate past leadership in school, internship, or sporting activities.
Hands-on experience through at least one, relevant, off-campus internship or co-op is preferred.

Telecommunications Linemen perform a variety of duties related to the installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of aerial telecommunication cables.
Throughout the program, Lineman Trainees will perform construction work such as climbing telephone poles, framing poles, installing anchors, installing strand, running, loading, and repairing lashers, digging holes, placing cable and conduit in the ground, and installing fiber optic and coaxial cables.
Qualified candidates will have a strong work history, willingness to learn, and a displayed aptitude and commitment to the lineworkers field.

Must be willing to work at heights, work outside in varying weather conditions, work on your feet and with your hands.
