This school-based health center position offers a flexible schedule with the option of year-round employment or working the school calendar. In addition, this position is eligible for student loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps. The behavioral health clinician would work closely with the school-based health center medical provider and school personnel to best support students. This is a great opportunity to provide easy access for students in the environment where they spend most of their day. And integrated care reduces stigma and increases the student's willingness to participate in care. The clinician's role includes providing screening, assessments, and focused brief treatment to students who use the health center. Treatment structure includes individual, family, and group work. Additional functions of the role include providing curbside consultation to providers, linking students to additional services and supports, and participating in population health activities that target the health and wellbeing of specific groups of people. Persons interested in this position must be comfortable working with children, adolescents, and their families. Knowledge of and interest in treating substance use disorders is preferred.
