Job Description: The Work: * Reviews patient history and physician's orders * Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation * When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice * Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate * Prepares equipment and supplies * Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment * Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary * Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) * Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure * Enters, transmits and reports exam findings * Rotate to other MaineGeneral Imaging sites as needed/scheduled You Have: * Active registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) required * Current State of Maine License for Radiological Technology/Radiographer (RT) required * 1 or more year of previous experience, including Mammography experience preferred, but willing to train * Mammography certification (ARRT) required within 1 year * Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision * Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 Work Shift: Job Exempt: No Benefits: Supporting all aspects of our employees' wellness - physical, emotional and financial - is a critical component of being a great place to work.
