Job Responsibilities:
Perform gastroenterological procedures including lowers GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy.
Conduct outpatient consultations, managing an average of 14-16 patients per day.
Provide inpatient care and be on day call (7am-4pm) for urgent procedures.
Work collaboratively with a full support staff including CRNA and anesthesiologist during procedures.
Participate in the scheduling and preparation for endo procedures both in the OR and clinic.
Utilize EMR software (Epic) for patient records and documentation.
Qualifications:
Board Certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA) - REQUIRED
Active Maine license or IMLC LOQ - HIGHLY PREFERRED
ACLS and BLS certifications - REQUIRED
Availability to work at least one week per month for the remainder of the year and into 2026 - REQUIRED
Experience in performing advanced procedures is preferred but not mandatory.
License and Certification Requirements:
Board Certification in Gastroenterology - REQUIRED
Active Maine medical license or IMLC LOQ - HIGHLY PREFERRED
Current ACLS and BLS certification - REQUIRED

* Patient education (Maintain appropriate level of handouts for different age groups).
* Maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the age of the patients being served.
* Maintain sterilization of instruments, follow protocols.
* Perform CLIA waived tests, when necessary (i.e., Glucometer, Rapid Strep, Urine dips, etc.), Complete competencies yearly. (Demonstration and written tests)
* Maintain Practice environment. Understand and follow compliance with RHC guidelines, licensing, accreditation requirements and assure compliance with CLIA requirements.
* Perform or assist with special skilled interventions such as wound care, cast removal, etc. (i.e., Orthopedics, General Surgery, and other offices)
* Perform such related duties not listed herein but deemed in the best interest of the Medical Practices and NMMC.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or equivalent and prior experience or training in the medical field (ie., Certified Nurses' Aide, Medical Technician, Medical Assistant Certificate, and CPR).
Typing skills required. Bilingual with French is desired.

The Medical/Lab Assistant is responsible for: Patient assessment Collecting patient vitals Capturing patient information in EMR system Phlebotomy Office Duties In order to help us continue to offer exceptional patient experiences, we need you to have the following: # Medical Assisting Certification and/or Registered are required Minimum (1) or more years of Medical Assisting and/or Lab Assistant experience.
